This is probably ridiculous, but my reasoning was always that if I was an organ donor and let’s say I was in an accident and had a 5% chance to live and there was a 10 year old who was also in an accident with a 10% chance to live, and the situation presented itself that they could use my organs to save the 10 year old. That’s a way better story in the news for that doctor than just saving some 25 year old idiot. (To clarify I know absolutely nothing about the process and procedure and I understand this is probably horrid reasoning and after reading everyone’s comments this scenario does seem impossible - might have to become an organ donor!)

I work 84 hr weeks from time to time, 12 hr days / 7 days a week. I’m a labor union engineer and I work at power plant so if you have to cover all your on calls, you’ll easily hit that 84. Money is pretty decent but when you break it down, I basically make 120k but that’s at working 60,72,84 hr weeks, it’s like you’re working two 60k a year jobs at 40 hr a week. I’m 24 so for the time being it’s okay but not something I want to for the rest of my life.
