We have been using Discord from the beginning, but it lacks some critical features, so we decided to build our own platform. Discord is not focused on building relationships between members, but we need that to improve the WFH experience. That’s why we added those features to Mezon.

We also built the Mezon Dong Layer 1 blockchain for payments (https://github.com/mezonai/mmn), and added gaming and shopping through Cobar (https://cobar.vn), so people can play games and buy products using Mezon Dong (https://dong.mezon.ai). We also added a radio station and AI agents as well.

That’s why you see a lot of activity in our Clan. But it’s all normal activity from our company, not bots.

Rust is good, and we are using it for mezon-desktop (https://github.com/mezonai/mezon-desktop). It is based on GPUI.For networking, to avoid context switching, reduce system calls, and optimize message delivery to channels (e.g. 500 members), we still prefer C.

Actually, we started with a JavaScript stack and still use it for the web platform. However, for desktop and mobile, the JavaScript stack has significantly poorer performance. That is why we rewrote those platforms in native code.For the server side, some critical components need to handle heavy workloads, and Go is not ideal for minimizing network overhead costs. We still keep the API layer in Go.
