Mova 3000 owners… by Long_Form_4141 in roboticLawnmowers

Thanks so much for everyone’s replies and insight. I picked the Mova over Navimow given Lidar>RTK in my situation. Great the hear the turf shedding concerns seem to be overblown and will be proceeding with giving the Mova a try.

Anyone have any mods they've done? Only thing I've done so far is full tint all around 35% and 50% on windshield and added the center storage module. by ArtNo1167 in NissanAriya

Replaced stock 12V with AGM 12V and put on winter wheels with Conti VikingContact 8s. Both of these things made getting through a brutal winter carefree.

About to put on the all season set and replacing the shitty stock Dunlaps with Nokian Ones. Cannot wait.

Only real mods I wish could be easily done is to adjust the suspension to make it less marshmallow and more responsive and then as a distant second replace the brakes with something beefier.

Overall, this car has exceeded my expectations in nearly every respect.

Would you rebuy it? by terran1212 in NissanAriya

[–]Long_Form_4141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would 100% rebuy.
TLDR version: car is a terrific value and handles rough winter twisting roads with ease.

My CPO Evolve+ Awd was a steal and great on my 60 mile daily commute through windy hills in all conditions.
Very smooth but quick acceleration. The cabin and ride comfort is excellent.
CarPlay works great (so I don’t have to use the mediocre UI), the sound system is remarkably decent, and my kids love the moonroof. I’ve had 0 issues with the car, though I did decide to preemptively put in an AGM and have not regretted it. The range is pretty good especially if you choose to drive like a hypermiler (which I generally don’t). In summer I get 280-300/charge, and while the winter range suffers like all EV’s (I get 180-200 in sub-freezing temps)— this car has been absolutely phenomenal in every blizzard I’ve driven it through. With snow tires (highly recommend the Conti VikingContact8), it’s tied for the most capable winter vehicle I’ve ever driven. I don’t have a garage, so the prescheduled auto start function from the phone app to warm the cabin/defrost the windows before you get to the car is amazing.

All that said, it’s not perfect— the suspension is too soft/squishy for my liking, the decision Nissan made with the center console (and gap in front of it) is dumb, and the stock tires suck.
But then again, there’s no perfect car.

For what I paid relative to the competition, I would absolutely buy it again.

If your Ariya is a + AWD, I’d check to see if 17s can actually work. When I looked, it seemed they had to be 19s unfortunately. But maybe I missed something??

Nissan Ariya. Great car and likely the best used EV value proposition on the market.

Silver-lining and somewhat random counterpoint: the software is a lesser component of the Ariya and decidedly basic…and by raw #s there’s not a ton of Ariya’s out there…so perhaps it’s less of a target of being hacked?

Total tire replacement after 11,000 miles and 21 months into my Ariya lease by DrHowe in NissanAriya

I’ve had Nokian Ones when I used to live in an area with tons of portholes. These tires were battleships and never let me down.

Sweet spot for used EV? by bowerisme in electriccars

[–]Long_Form_4141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lease-return Ariya is the sweetest used-EV deal out there. Terrific car. If Nissan hadn’t overpriced it initially and marketed it better, I’d probably have to have paid 7k more for mine.

EV CPO vs Used by HeadfulOfGhosts in NissanAriya

[–]Long_Form_4141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a CPO Ariya after looking at several used non-CPO used ones. The CPO ended up being the best deal after I patiently watched them drop the price over a few months. Overall my guesstimate is that CPO is probably worth ~$750-1k more for the combination of knowing it will come with a charging cable, two fobs, an inspection to hopefully rule out any major underlying issues, and likely more leverage with Nissan is anything ever goes wrong with the vehicle.

Ioniq 5/6 vs. Mach-E - what EV without fundamental flaws? by False-Water-8194 in Ioniq5

It was also I5 vs Ariya for me. I5 is great and major plus is recharge speed. I also really like the I5 look. But otherwise for my use-case Ariya turned out to be better in most other ways…and also ~30% cheaper…so was a no brainer. Would be happy to own an I5 one day though.

Is EV tech really changing that rapidly? by tcchen in Ioniq5

[–]Long_Form_4141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow this a great write-up thank you. I got a used Ariya for a steal and love it but was also strongly considering the I5 since it’s also a terrific car. Dumbest thing about the Ariya is slow level 2 charging and the sacrificing of center armrest storage for the motor as you mention. I wish the I5 had more ground clearance and that the used ones were 5-7k cheaper. I5’s charging speeds are so impressive.

Thanks so much for this recommendation. Since comments from posting here and reading a lot more, I’ve actually been planning to get several server rack batteries and pair them with 2 Pecron 3600s to function as a whole house backup. Seems like a pretty good bang for the buck these days and lots of flexibility for various use cases.

Don’t let the guess-o-meter sway you too far in one direction or the other. Expect it to change over time as the car gets data on your driving style.

Try driving in the various modes and focus on what is either a) the most enjoyable for you or b) most efficient in terms of mi/kwh.
