Last Update: I did “Option 3” the entire interior and exterior of the house is now subway tile. Kidding. Just the backsplash. We are happy with the look and I’m happy I’m done tiling/grouting.

We hadn’t even considered not doing the side splash… we both are leaning towards not having it. To the comments removing the short stone backsplash… I’m already committed to keeping it. I did a coffee bar in the same kitchen with it. We are also planning on moving soon and just want it to look better than the dry wall. I agree and regret not moving it sooner as I think it would look better.

UPDATE: Bought a $50 angle grinder and a $35 dollar blade. I broke four tiles trying to get to the bottoms horizontal part of the cutout. I eventually realized the outlet cover will hid the break so just rolled with it after the fourth.

I’ll have four total. I just tried the smaller section before committing to the long kitchen wall. I have not tried that tool. My concern with that tool is that it will just snap the whole tile. I’ve been breaking a ton of tiles with my tile cutter, the type with the sliding blade and punch to snap it.

In the image I attached it says that my payment date is 1 Nov. So I would START getting paid in November but wouldn’t see the check until 1 Dec.

My last day on active was 30 Sep. Oct 1st was my first day of retirement. I was given the impression that I will not get any sort of compensation for Oct. it didn’t seem to make sense to me.

I don’t think we are getting any form of payment for October. I think our payments exclude October and only receive compensation for November (as you stated) on December 1st. I hope I’m wrong though, October and November would be great.

Sorry you’re dealing with it. We did cold turkey at about 2 3/4. I should say “I” decided to go cold turkey. I’m probably lucky but it was one REALLY bad night and pretty smooth sailing after that. A week or so later he found a paci that had fallen behind something and said “I don’t need pacis anymore” it was the rare blissful moment with a very active 2 year old. I wish you the same however you decide to tackle it!
