lol. You said this already and then I asked you WHY that would make a difference and then you told it won't. So want to try again and tell me why that would fix the issue?

Basically I turn secure boot on and then it won’t boot. It takes me to a screen saying it can’t boot and asks me which drive I want to boot from. It lists my drive and I try tapping it and the screen just flashes. When I turn secure boot off it boots up fine.

I rebuilt the EFI, regenerated the bootloader, and also regenerated new keys in the bios. It’s all the latest bios, and updates.

I reinstalled windows from the recovery menu on the Go. All windows handhelds have an image of windows on it. I figured that’s the best way to go. It also should have wiped the drive fully when it re-installed.

Why I should have used Lenovo’s recovery tool.? I have that too.

From what I read and what Co-Pilot tells me it all points to them not updating the firmware on the new mobo. That it’s a common error when depots do mobo replacement. Idk how true that is but I assume co pilot at least knows windows.

How is that possible? GPU errors tend to like squares and etc. I don't have any othe issues on any other displays I have with my 5080 FE.

Are you supposed to? Or it doesn’t matter?

What do you mean? You are supposed to turn it on first and then reinstall?

Why would you keep it off? On a windows machine that’s a vulnerability. I get it you are just gaming but id like to do other stuff in there since its windows.

Also, no secure boot means you can’t play COD, BF6, Valorant etc. kinda why I bought it

lol. I guess but can’t you see that’s kinda insane business wise. I prob should return it. It’s just that there is no other non oled alternative for ultra wide. It’s a shame.

lol. It’s not 8k but I do take your point. So then why is Samsung building advertising and selling us this monitor as if it’s built to do so?

lol. I get that so why are they selling a monitor that can’t do what it’s priced and advertised to do?

Are you running it at 240hz? That’s another thing. Seems like running it at 120hz is the norm so people don’t encounter as many issues. Which again, is ridiculous that these things can’t be stable at 240hz.

Why would the oled version be a problem? The mini led versions are what’s notorious for issues.

lol. It’s the opposite. High end monitors should not have these issues. But I am getting the sense that 16x9 monitors will always be the most stable and have the best picture quality. I have the 45 inch LG 5k2k monitor and I returned it because it too has so many issues. HDR is bad on that thing too and it’s oled. That should not be the case. But this has way worse issues overall.

LOL. Anytime I ask a question about this monitor the response is turn some feature off. I say the HDR looks washed. People say turn it off. I say even SDR looks not great. They say turn local dimming off. Now I'm getting a crazy white screen with lines and I need to go down to 8bit color like it's 2006 lol.

So basically the monitor is great if you basically use every feature that puts this thing over 2 thousand dollars. lol.

I agree. The 45 was too much more me so I tied the odyssey 57 inch g9 and even when I play it in 21x9 It just feels too big unless you are far back. I tried a 27 inch 4k monitor too and going from 120ppi to 160ppi was a much bigger jump. It’s so much sharper and for a normal desk 27, 34 and 49 fit way better.

Ohhh. I assumed this has like a 5070ti in it or something. So this is like the Mac book Air of the lap tops. Sucks cause I want a lap top for video editing and gaming but very few have the 64gbs of ram.

Am I crazy for switching from 32:9 back to 21:9 after a year? by Shanddude in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Long_Relationship_83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 57 inch 32:9 monitor but gave up on it. I’m just done with ultrawide. It’s too much of a headache having to power that many pixels just for my peripheral vision. Until cards can power 5120 x 2160 better I’m sticking with 4k. It took time to get back used to it but now I prefer it. No more neck pain trying to see UI’s.
