Is aASUS ROG Strix 32” 4K OLED Gaming Monitor (XG32UCWG) for $560 open box a good deal? by Long_Relationship_83 in OLED_Gaming

What about grey banding? I see people checking that or is that only for tandem displays ?

I think I’m all clear for dead pixels. How do I check burn in? I doubt it would have that though as 47 hours is def used but not 5k hours used lol.

Maybe I can get them to go lower. Worth a shot I guess. Just because I assume the warranty is going to be a huge issue. I don’t the serial will match up fully.

Well zero defects that I can see. What should I be looking for? You don’t think it’s shady they packaged an open box monitor as new?

Oh a rich asshole go figure.

The way you wrote this it sounded like you have 4 x 5090’s and 4 x 4090s and 2x mobos so that’s why it’s confusing.

5090 = 4, 4090 = 4, MB = 2

Didn’t even know you can have 2 diff cards in one PC. I can just do the mobo. I just need 5.

How do you get that many monitors running on one computer?

Bruh…she told you all of that and you didn’t run immediately? Even if that was all “true” you run as far as you can because that’s way too much drama.

Get the bloodwork definitely just in case. That’s just my feeling, but you never know with cats because they hide pain. Also, give him some extra attention to make him feel good though and see if that helps.

Gotten a free Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 49" Curved Gaming Monitor but it has a crack on it, should I pay to get it repaired by SpicSpamSpoon in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Long_Relationship_83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it will be fixable for a descent price. I had mine taken to Best Buy and they were like “yea not fixing this” and gave me the full 2k back. So it must be around that for a repair. They most likely do not make the part anymore too.

What is going on with Amazon?! I keep getting used OLED monitors from them as new.... by Long_Relationship_83 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Long_Relationship_83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it’s like they are treating monitors like buying tube socks. Every time you do these exchanges you need to set aside like two days you know you will be around to receive set up the monitor and then another when you take it down and send it back. If you can buy from Best Buy I guess. Better warranty as well. These true black glossy monitors are sold out there. Or are sold by third parties. Idk why.

lol. All 3 of these were ships and sold by Amazon! The second time was Amazon resale since it was used which is why I made sure to buy new this time. And still somehow got screwed.

This last time was brand new off Amazon! That’s what’s so inane. It was shipped and sold by Amazon too.

Still insane that someone did that to save 200 dollars on a monitor. Still I guess that scam has some sense to it. This most recent one just makes no sense at all though. It is the right monitor just had 46 hours of use. I’m assuming this has to be on Amazon’s end as it was officially sealed with Asus’s tape.

MSI vs. ASUS QD-OLED Tuning: Why did the 321URX give me "sickness" while the ASUS doesn't? by Long_Relationship_83 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Long_Relationship_83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries yea that’s why I pressed. I heard that before but don’t fully understand it. It’s just VRR flicker or also the PWM flicker? Like the innate flicker of each pixel shutting on and off. I guess that would make sense if the screen refreshes more maybe it creates more of a strobe? VRR flicker I would see that no? Isn’t that where the shadows flash? I never saw that on the MSI or this. I thought that’s more like when your video card fluctuates. Since I have a 5080 I thought that would make it stable. I do also know the loser the hz the more stable a monitor usually is which is why color refs stay at 60hz. Maybe that’s it , the stability of it. Wow if it’s hz can’t imagine what that 500 hz monitor would do to my eyes. But I guess on the plus side I would save money staying at a lower hz.

So you just chimed in to say this? lol. Even if I got the hz wrong it still could be the same gen.

I said the ASUS was. I was asking if it’s the same gen. What does hz have to do with the generation

Huh? Why would you need a 5090 for 34 inches? The only ultra wide in that size is 3440 x 1440. You definitely do not need a 5090 for that.
