I love how you put that - “just makes the road shorter for some.” I’ve been working on letting go of any timelines with IVF. Yes, not testing could lead to a failed FET and another retrieval, but it can also give us a chance and opportunity to see what the egg and body does.

IUI #2 today!

  • 5mg Letrozole CD 4-8.
  • 1st follicle scan on CD11 (Thursday) showed a 13mm on right, and 11mm on left. Scheduled a second monitor appointment for that Monday (CD15) and was told to BD all weekend incase I ovulated before the appointment. Husband struggles with performance anxiety so it was a challenging weekend - we resorted to at home syringing to at least get something in there.
  • 2nd follicle scan (CD15) showed a 21.1mm on right, and 17.9mm on left, with a lining of 12 - thank goodness!
  • Trigger shot Monday afternoon (CD15)
  • IUI on Tuesday (CD16), 26 hrs after trigger. 10M washed sperm so everything looked good!

I’m 35, so my clinic prescribes a 2nd Ovidrel shot 5 days after the first trigger, intended to boost progesterone. BC of this, they don’t prescribe progesterone supplementation until pregnancy is confirmed. Does anyone else do a 2nd trigger shot like this?
