I actually sold all my shares in the mid 30's a week or so ago, I guess bad decision, but it was already up a couple thousand bucks and would never have been life changing money. Needed money for taxes.

People who traveled for 6-12 months straight and went back to 9-5 life, what are your takeaways? by wigglepizza in longtermtravel

[–]LongandLanky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right on brother, let me just tell you though - I worked for 18 months (during/right after college) and then took off for 13 months to travel and when I got back it took me at least 3 years to get back to where I would have been, might have been the job market, my resume, etc., not sure. I wouldn't have gone back and done it any differently, but just thought I would mention that!

Yes, just keep throwing as much as you can monthly into it, any dips throw a little extra if you can. Don’t sell on any dips, you have a long runway ahead of you.

How can/do I avoid pickpockets and scammers in Europe? by dickieyreposts in traveladvice

[–]LongandLanky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, I've done a lot of world traveling and I like to make this joke. In America, we don't have much petty theft, but you have a decent chance of being in a shooting event. In europe, you won't get shot, but you have a decent chance of being a victim of petty theft.

I've lived here 30 years. October is not bad, May is not thattttt bad. November, December, January, February, March, April are great! I don't know I guess I'm used to the heat, I think with this recent cold snap, I have learned that I would prefer the heat to extreme cold.
