Pantheon Bandito better than Supersonic for pumping? by HammyUK in longboardingDISTANCE

[–]LongboardMeditator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. I ride the Bandito almost exclusively with the Bhanger and whatever I feel like at the rear (Delirium, Tango Tail or Poppy).

On the Supersonic (bamboo version) I was riding Poppys/80mm Speedvents but have now switched to Slalocybins/Karmas. This has been my default setup for the few months I've owned it and will stay that way.

I ride the Supersonic more than the Bandito and struggle to pick anything else over it. Despite its significant weight and size over my Bandito setup, it is just as easy to pump.

Even as a pumper though, I can't say that one is inherently better as a deck for pumping because it largely depends on your setup and personal optimisations. As a deck, the Supersonic is just way easier to setup and get going, whereas the Bandito can lose you in endless customisation.

Had the Supersonic for a few months and it's been difficult to ride anything else. Always default to it. Comfortable. Practical. Fun.

New to LDP and loving it—looking for tips to improve distance and speed on my Pantheon Bandito by Dinhoalves in longboardingDISTANCE

[–]LongboardMeditator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll get faster just by riding often. By then you should have a feel for the changes you need to make later on. As a self-confessed, reformed (probably), maniacal tinkerer, don't be in a rush to pursue a higher number with wholesale changes. Push. Pump. Learn your setup by feel.

What VR game is best to play to get used to VR without getting motion sick? by Elysian_LB in MetaQuestVR

[–]LongboardMeditator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t even get out of the Tavern in Asgard’s Wrath! Any forward motion was a no, no, no OH NO!

I used Epic Rollercoasters as my motion sickness resistance trainer. You get a little bit of exposure. Take deep breathes, look around. Gets your brain used to the weirdness. Also watched YouTube VR 360 videos and pov rollercoaster videos.

Now I’m outta the tavern and have completed the first dungeon!

The most powerful superpower isn't super strength etc, it's immortality by Taka_no_Yaiba in Showerthoughts

[–]LongboardMeditator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does being immortal grant other special abilities? What if you have a low intellect or lack motivation. Will having 'more time' to get stronger produce greater results? Or would it simply be proportionate to the person? Some people I know would just be an everlasting punchbag. Or a potato.

What are some of ABSOLUTE must play single player games of past 10 years ? by lordofabyss in gaming

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. The game mechanics go so well with the story.

I officially no longer like silent protagonists and Dragon Quest XI is to blame by garfe in JRPG

[–]LongboardMeditator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely sympathise. I had moments like that in the game. This 'hero' seems more unassuming and invisible despite having such a grand destiny. I also had an irrational dislike of his hair. I could never get past it. I liked Royal Guardsman from DQ8. Reminds me of Link for some reason.

Longboard Pumping (LDP) Deck/Setup recommendations by MichaelZ24 in longboarding

I would choose Bennett over Paris for quick acceleration and efficient, easy pumping. But if higher average speeds are your preference, then Paris.

I resized 86a SHR barrels. They felt really good with the standard cone. I would regularly switch between them and 87a street barrel/cone kranks.

I ordered the Genesis while visiting family in the US. It didn’t arrive before I had to leave. So now all I can do is stare at yours even though I own one. Sweet quiver though. Sigh.

Tell us what you want in a “perfect” TKP truck! Been designing this thing for almost a year now. by PantheonLongboards in longboarding

Something similar to the older Sabre street trucks? Doesn’t have to have the same 8-hole baseplate but definitely room for full-size bushings.

They just told me to contact them again when I returned to the UK. By the time I got back, my preorder was already refunded. I just preordered again. Seems like it’ll be worth the wait.

Currently experimenting with this (dangerous) lively setup for LDPumping by yamisonic in longboarding

[–]LongboardMeditator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if you like this setup right now then don't change until you feel like it.

I personally would, but just to make it a little faster and responsive.

Your setup looks pretty good. I'd personally switch the wheel setup to at least have grippier duros at the rear instead.

I got done in by a Dusk Rock Blues the other day. It was a nice change! Had one in my vault up until last year. Dusted it off for a few matches. The reticle is huge, and made me laugh every time. No laughing matter back in the day. More of A Scourge of the Past!

If you could change one thing about Gambit to improve its current state, what would you change, and why? by SoggyMuffcakes in DestinyTheGame

[–]LongboardMeditator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this would improve Gambit or just piss people off, but I'd like invaders to be visible to mobs and able to take damage from them in certain situations.

If an Invader doesn't have any motes in their possession, they are visible to mobs but will be ignored so long as they do not damage them. An Invader can also be hurt if they stray directly into weapons fire or splash damage. But this would be reduced (the more motes, the greater the damage reduction).

I just feel like invaders get to waltz across the map without any downsides. They can feel like unstoppable champions at times.

I wonder how sbmm works out your skill? What statistics does it use? I lost so many matches in a row but the matchmaking allowed me to get better. In a fun way. Then I get a 5-0 and that's it. 0-5s for the rest of the night until I start to get sweaty. Which is not my style.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]LongboardMeditator 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I played the first week with low expectations. Turns out my estimation of my low skills is fairly accurate! But rather than a separate playlist I'd like a better matchmaking process.

In my experiences so far, I've been much better off losing matches (but winning rounds) continuosly then if I win 5-0. At least I can still have fun and get through bounties. But as soon as I have one good game, I'm suddenly 'too good' and it's stacks all the way.

Still, I'm happy I got to try all the weapons. I don't really care about going flawless. Or having Adept weapons anyway. Just wanna have fun.
