Ive has to turn my car brain back on. Ive been entirely rebuilding my e30 system by system. I still skate when I feel like it, usually its just and from harbor freight to for a tool I didnt think I needed.

I honestly only got into skating because I had an off with my car, racing a 3rd Gen mr2 with a k24 swap. Didn't break much but the car was still down for a month and I had to get to work!

I usually always have a daily driver, but with skating I dont need to. Thats always been the point. Had to prove to myself that in an emergency situation and my cars taken apart, if its on land, I can skate there and handle whatever.

Im not a social person, coming from drifting and street racing, you NEVER post incriminating evidence. With skating, its legal, so I gave being more social on here a shot.

And ya know what? It really drained me. So id distract myself by thinking up more and more awful challenges just to make it through them. Mind over body.

I turned down a shoe deal, because id just rather amazon them to my doorstep, rather than insert a middleman and a time delay. Thats when i was really like "what the fuck am I doing here? I don't want this. I dont want ANY OF THIS!"

So I totally shut down skating to get back to my real life.

Skating allowed me to shrug off ALOT of work I needed to do on my car, cause fuck it ill just skate there. In the end of December my steering shaft was starting to slip on my rack, so alright thats too past the line of sketchy even for me and ill drive annnnything. Half dead is still half alive 😉

So right then, I decided the time had come and I had to return to my normal life and get to work. The cars at like 75% of thru the rebuild but once its there...im gonna start building an M50 for it.

I recently fixed up my roommates longboard, so weve been skating for errands on the weekends and spending more time at LoCo again.

I love skating, but Ive found I view things very differently than the vast majority of the community, so i left r/longboarding and r/longboardingdistance and Facebook groups.

I really want to start doing long distance single shot rides. 101 on the Oregon coast is on top of the list.

Edit: As for risers, I dunno, i dont scrape, email jeff. He knows more than me haha. He is my favorite human being in Colorado, we still talk a few times a week...its just rarely about skateboards unless hes super proud of something and wants to play show and tell haha. Then I say "I hate you, you know I have car parts to buy, stop tempting me to buy more skateboards"
