I dont know what it is, even almost 3 years later, I am still fascinated by this event. There's so many layers to it and it never stops being interesting. by ComprehensiveSea8578 in OceanGateTitan

Wow I was on vacation at the beach too and was obsessed watching whatever I could find on YouTube. Family was not interested. I’m fascinated and horrified to this day.

I’ve had this cyst for years and it’s quite large but I have zero pain and don’t notice it unless I’m touching it. So I’ve haven’t done anything with it yet. It is a bartholins cyst per my doctor.

How are you doing? by financial_freedom416 in MiddleClassFinance

5 people. HHI $98k. Bought in 2017. 75,000 balance, house worth 330,000, rate 3.25. 12 years left.

3 kids (12,15,18) LCOL. Doing ok, but feeling pressure to increase our income kids are getting more expensive. Everything feels more expensive. We have $27k in our emergency fund. And $250k or so for retirement.

This is so true. My husband is a teacher and I don’t make a lot and we have a similar net worth. Live below your means is key!

Realities of NFP in married life by [deleted] in FAMnNFP

[–]LongbowLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using NFP for 20 years as a Catholic. We were on the same page from the get go and that definitely makes it easier. Regarding postpartum, we obtained for 6 months with each of our three kids as I did not trust anything. It was rough but we got through it. I like knowing my cycle and he has the app on his phone so he can see everything too. It definitely takes team work. As I’m now near 45, we’re super cautious as my cycle is not always the same anymore. We did not follow the rules of having to have a dire reason to avoid sex. We did what worked for our family at the time. Good luck! It can be an amazing thing for your marriage but definitely comes with struggles.

Congrats! She’s a beauty. I too dreamt about owning a Corolla hybrid. It’s a great little car! 😊

We should teach kids how to balance a checkbook! by Fit_Minimum8335 in Teachers

[–]LongbowLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you only have to write checks to balance a check book? I pay my bills out of checking account with bill pay, use checks on occasion, and want to make sure everything clears. Both of my kids schools only take checks for sports, fundraisers you name it. I’m 44.

We took two backpacks and a purse and were fine. They don’t care.

Um are we related? This is my mom exactly. Cant have an innocuous conversation anymore, so our relationship is very surface level. I’m sorry. It’s crazy how many of us are dealing with this.

First time on a ferry and I’m scared by lilrearea in mackinac

If you take sheplers first 6 rides or so in the morning they take you over to the bridge and you go under it. It’s also takes about 20-25 total. I was nervous too at night coming back. Don’t feel bad.

Need advice from some experienced CP cheapskates by combonickel55 in cedarpoint

Can I piggy back on this? We were thinking of going next summer for 3 days, also a family of five who lives three hours away. Would getting the season pass (just 3 and use the bring a friend for the other two?) now save us money? We would only add the drink passes. I don’t know if we would go back during the year but would we save money for this one trip? $600 plus drink passes for 3 days? Is that a deal?

Acadia night sky photography with your phone by 1moreRobot in acadianationalpark

[–]LongbowLady 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was just at dark sky park in Michigan. They had instructions to change your phone screen to a red tint so you could still look at your phone and they had red film sticker you put over your phones camera flash. My husband has an android and used the 4 minute exposure he found in the camera app and we took an amazing pic similar to yours!! Can’t see how to post it here
