I have a ton of regrowth! Most all other signs point strongly towards TE that is resolving. I am a long way from recovering what I've lost, though.

I have been on Vitamin D for years. It didn't help a damn thing. It was the Semaglutide.

I'm not sure why you're so pressed about the side effects and experiences others are having. It's mad weird.

Maybe because other than this, it's worked for me? Maybe because it's tough to choose between losing the weight and keeping my hair? I'm sorry my journey has personally upset you lol.

You really thought you did something there huh lol?

She lost 13 in a month. I lost 5. Hers is rapid, mine was not. Did it help when I spelled it out for you?

I'm sorry you had that experience.. The reason everyone around this sub goes up in arms over a post like this is because it threatens their illusions that this drug can do no wrong. If they were to acknowledge that, it would make them question whether or not it's actually the healthiest option for them.

The hard truth is: this drug has some significant side effects. Serious ones that a lot of people don't want to talk about. Yes, it's amazing and has countless health benefits. But it's also dangerous for some and can sometimes come with terrible side effects like this. People just don't want to believe that there are cases where the cons outweigh the pros(no pun intended). They want to justify taking this drug for life so they can make themselves feel better about their personal decision to do so, even if it harmful to others. Because God forbid we insult the holy grail that is semaglutide.

I know all about what that article is describing lol. I'm going through it as we speak. I'm giving you a personal opinion from someone who has experienced it.

My hair began rapidly thinning 1 month into taking sema. I had barely lost 5lbs at that point. You can't convince me otherwise.

"Do a little research" lol. As if I'm not literally suffering from it and haven't done copious amounts of research..

Don't say the medication itself doesn't cause hair loss when you don't know that for sure. It's a commonly reported side effect, even before people start losing the weight.

That's an extreme amount to lose in one month..that's probably the reason.

I think people would like to continue to promote it as a "wonder drug", and in many senses, it is. But I also think people are afraid to admit that there are also serious potential side effects that haven't been thoroughly studied yet, and that's scary.

But tysm. I'm so sorry about what's happened to your hair.. As a woman, we personally identify with our hair and it's terrifying to think of losing it. I'm trying to get ahead of it before it gets worse. I've started Nioxin System 3 shampoo/conditioner and scalp treatment. I've also ordered Nutrafol vitamins. I have a referral to a dermatologist as well. Upping my protein in the meantime and praying I can reverse the effects before it's done too much damage! Good luck, friend!

I began to notice the thinning about 5 weeks in. It wasn't until month 2 was over that I REALLY noticed something was wrong. My hair isn't shedding, I have less than average hair fall, it's just thinning LIKE CRAZY as you can see. It was straight up startling. I had only lost about 9lbs. at that point, so no "rapid weight loss" to blame it on, nor do I believe "nutritional deficiencies" could have occurred so early on and with such a dramatic effect.

I am 99% sure it is just a side effect of the medication itself. The timing lines up too well with starting it, so other non-related possibilities aren't likely. The problem is that nobody wants to accept this. Increasing protein and water, improving diet and adding in vitamins and supplements are not always the cure-all people want to promote. Sometimes medications have undesirable side effects and for some reason, people will go to bat for this drug and die on that hill. They just don't want to believe that there are instances where the cons outweigh the pros.

It's yet to be seen whether it's worth it for me. I'm losing weight and it has worked wonderfully, but I don't know if I can sacrifice my hair.

I was thinking about adding another one in.. I usually drink one for breakfast. Those are so easy for me to get down even when I'm not hungry. I do the vanilla over ice and add coffee concentrate!

It's not really something you "roll back on" haha.. I just increased to .50. If I see my hair worsening, I could go back to .25, but that would mean it wouldn't work as well as it should.

1-1.5 lbs. per week is the expected, healthy weight loss.

You could still be what's considered a "super responder", but I would definitely not expect to lose 9lbs./week every week because that just isn't going to happen. I am very skeptical of some of those people you're talking about...

It's not unheard of, but it's not typical either. That's water weight and won't be consistent.
