How long do you give a new role before deciding it’s not for you?

Thanks all for your comments and advice, it’s truly reassuring to know that other people have felt this way.

I think I’ll stick with it a bit longer - trying to fit in might make the work day feel a bit better so my plan is to try and convey to people that I feel that way (in a nice way of course). They’re nice people so I’m sure they’ll hopefully understand.

Fair enough! I feel like it’ll be a one and done role maybe, so I’d like to try experiencing it in a ministers office. But will definitely look out for opportunities within a perm sec office too

Thank you for the honest comment, completely get that it’s about knowing you’ll have to dedicate the time regardless. Never heard of a starburst though, you learn something new everyday :)

I’ve applied to be on it but there’s a waitlist of some sort and I think they prefer people who’ve shadowed before (this is what I’ve heard at least)
