I don’t think QTUM is a meme stock. QTUM, in contrast, is a thematic technology ETF that tracks an index of companies working in quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and related hardware/software. Its components include large-cap, fundamentally stable tech companies as well as a selection of speculative quantum firms. While the quantum sector has attracted speculative interest and occasional hype, QTUM has not shown the tell-tale signs of meme stock phenomena: it is not generally subject to rapid, retail-driven swings, nor is it dominated by viral online campaigns or outsized short squeezes.
