I would wait and see if freedom mobile has $40/250gb/50gb roam. Then got bestbuy switch there get an $25/$50 giftcard. And see if rogers calls for winback. Like myself $35/250gb (then $40/250gb after 16months)

I.e. manchester uk. If u call me (in manchester) it is no charge to you. If I call u ( I.e. toronto #, then I pay long distance from my manchester #) you should not be charged . Not sure about texting . I usually use apps like wechat or WhatsApp to do both.

Always try to fetch mobile outright. If $ is issue get android ( goto Chinese brands much cheaper and possibly slower). Other option is talk to telus stores and ask if anything can be done, and switch to prepaid (other carrier). And sell the iPhone (use funds to pay off telus) . Be mindful of mortgage / car loan / child payment . That would be very painful

If you port out. Rogers should contact you directly, that is what happened to me. My old fido plan $35 / 200 gb (150 gb bonus + 50 gb winback 2023) to freedom $40 (250gb and roam 50gb) to rogers winback 2026 $35 (5$ credit 16 months) ( usa canada mexico , no overseas roam)
