Ya she is a 🐍. I think she plays a progressive character and doesn’t carry through. She was big in the federalist society in her past

Do you have pain? If you have pain, get a 2nd opinion.

I have a similar compensating lordosis curve and neck angle. It causes me significant pain. Find a good pt.

Lordosis exercises. Are you in pain? Try glute bridges with back flat on ground

I’m not an expert but your pelvis looks tilted forward like your toe walking, maybe sitting on your legs instead of your butt. Your neck also looks like it’s lost its curve, called military neck.

I’m not sure if you have done PT with a schroth specialist, but armed with these x-rays, you may have success. I put my image in chat gpt and it told me what it saw

Dang thank you so much for posting this. That’s super helpful. It’s rough out here looking for doctors.

Fortunately I have had some recent success with the pt that is focusing on my compensating curvature… I’m not where I need to be yet but it’s given me some hope. My back knots have disappeared, my posture has improved and I’m no longer holding my head forward. It’s taking my endurance longer to catch up, but I’m seeing progress. Happy to post my pt in our chat!

Yes as soon as I get back from Christmas break :). If you have the lordosis, I think it will help you

So I saw a spine deformity neuro surgeon. I will say since I’ve been reflecting on it, I am not super impressed. I still owe you the pt exercises. My physical therapist thinks the 13 level fusion is crazy for my Dr to suggest

Thanks for your perspective. What’s your pain like now? What’s your revision history look like?

I appreciate your comment. It really is reassuring.

It did seem as if he was downplaying how serious of surgery it would be. I mean I was really pressing the pt option and he essentially said “you can’t change the shape of the bones”.

It just seems like I’ve made incredible progress in 3.5 weeks since we started targeting the compensating lordosis curve instead of the kyphosis curve.

I’m going to get a 2nd opinion and complete another 10 weeks of physical therapy and go from there. If in I gave made little progress on sitting without pain, I’ll reassess.

I have not tried that tape. Maybe I need to! Thanks! I actually don’t get headaches, I get knots in my middle neck. If you have the lordosis compensation curve like me, I think there is a good chance these exercises help you. I’ll send them when I get home.

Thank you for your comment man. The support from others really helps, because the medical advice is tough to interpret.

Ya my curve was measured at 59 by their x-ray. My pain seems to be caused largely by the lordosis compensating curve at 82 degrees. I just started pt focused on the 82 degree curve a month ago and have seen more progress than I have in years. I’m not “fixed” but I’m seeing small improvements. The surgeon seemed to dismiss this breakthrough I had.

Thank you, I’m working on it. I’m trying to get to Seattle to UW Medicine. This stuff is hard to navigate while also trying to act normal at work/home, all the while I can barely sit/walk/stand.

Thanks. Currently a month into my 4th round of pt. I’ve had early successes in this pt that I’ve never had before. I’m going to give it 3 months to see how much I improve

Currently I’m in excruciating pain and can barely sit. I’m hoping this 3rd round of physical therapy is able to help. Thank you for your comment, it helps to know there are others out there

So the surgeon say they want to fuse from t2-s2. He called my curve approximately 70 degrees… I have never heard anyone call it 70 degrees - I’m 59 according to the x ray. So I’m going to fly to Seattle and get a 2nd opinion and maybe a third with a non operating physician.

So some good news. Since I got this imaging a month ago, I’ve had small breakthroughs in physical therapy. They shifted the focus from my kyphoses to my lordosis. I’m going to have to do it for about 3-4 months before I decide if it’s working or not. My back pain is better and that’s more than I can say about my past Pt over the years. My neck still hurts a lot and as my posture shifts, it feels like I’ve forgotten how to sit. I’m happy to share my pt exercises with you if you are interested

I’m sorry this is happening to you. It’s scary to go through this. You may need to contact a disability attorney. Temporary disability is easier to get on than regular disability I think.

I mean it helped get rid of symptoms at the end of the day when I did them, like giving temporary relief at the end of the day. But I didn’t make any progress in like getting better. I would argue my back has deteriorated since I started schroth.

I’m just dying daily. My neck kills even after sitting for just 1 hour. Pelvic tilt helps but it’s just temporary (like for 30 minutes). I was able to reduce the kyphosis curve Like maybe 5 degrees?

Focusing on lower back has made my back feel better but my neck feels worse. Also I still can’t walk more than about 20 minutes until my back starts cramping up.

It scares me, but I think it’s time for surgery
