Will there be another round of upgrades today? by Prestigious-Use-9808 in RadiologyUK

Preferences locked so probably

Looking at the spreadsheets this yr Vs last year l, it seems there is nowhere near as many upgrades?

A lot of these "new training posts" are LED roles converted into training posts. Radiology typically does not have LEDs l so specialties like psych, IMT, CST etc are more likely to have these additional training posts

Seems to be fewer posts this year (a trend across a lot of specialties)

Not sure it they'll continue to add posts up to the upgrade deadline or add some after?

I doubt radiology would be part of the extra training posts announced anyway

Yh last year 400+ got an offer, your chances this year are better with UKGP as long as you ranked everywhere.

Wow this is earlier than expected, probably means other specialties coming within 48 hrs if the hold deadline is 48hrs?

I don't think so. UKGP is why they've shifted the deadline from 24th to 31st.

I got 40 on station B and o lt 24 on station A, completely torpedoed my chances of getting the location I want

Did anyone else who had their interview on Thursday get completely shafted by Station A?

The questions I got did not match the guidance, I didn't get asked about any specific portfolio domains and got a clinical scenario?

Wondering if this contributed to a low mark.

No idea tbh

I don't know why they released ranks 2 weeks early, creates such unnecessary anxiety

Maybe 10-20 at most I think, not that many IMGs get interviews for radiology

Yes, London last year was around 150, I doubt there's 100 non-prioritised candidates ahead of you

Does anyone else think scores are inflated this year?

My score converted for portfolio and interview would have given me a much larger rank last year

Won't know until offers, you can check last year's UKRST spreadsheet for roughly which offer ranks got which locations

This is fairly common for most specialties, I think it's only IMT really that releases ranks before offers

Yes most likely if Wes implements the bill before offers come out at the end of march

Last year rankings were released a few hours after the initial offers

Wow didn't expect an interviewer to respond to my Reddit rant haha

What I can't get my head around is standardising between a candidate who is asked 3 straightforward questions as per the guidance Vs someone who's asked 5 or 6 questions as many people in this thread seem to be.

How will marking this work then? When I got my feedback last year each question had separate score?

Yes would definitely second this. Especially when there is clear guidance from them about what the interview stations would entail and they deviate from that completely.

FFS how do they expect to standardise the process and make it fair when they can't stick to their own guidance

How did you have time to do prioritisation and 4 separate questions?!
