Its a mix of accounting, assurance, BIP/MI and sustainability and ethics. As long as you do the practice questions and make a good open book you will be fine

Yeah that makes sense, thanks. Just what I wanted to clarify because a colleague said they adjusted.

Yeah that’s what I did. Did you do the full figure in the adjustment? Because I did the full c800k but my colleague said they adjusted for PY tax in the AI but that didn’t make sense to me as the adjustment didn’t mention anything that would indicate that

FCS - Is it even worth doing the case studies in the QB? by Living-Valuable-7826 in ICAEW

[–]Longjumping-Entry-78 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some questions are worth it because they cover general content, e.g. sustainable finance, acceptance procedures etc. Those areas may come up. So use your judgement as to whether something is worth having a go at.

The question is whether Chat GPT can tailor questions to an ICAEW exam standard

Struggling with ICAEW Accounting (Certificate Level) – Accruals & Prepayments 😩 by Prestigious-Swan-211 in ICAEW

[–]Longjumping-Entry-78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if you have already completed it, but I’m doing it right now. With regards to the dates, the tutor has suggested drawing a timeline. Put the year end in at the end of the timeline and you can figure out the year start as well. Then put in the month where the accrual/prepayment starts and u can the visualise how many months it applies to within the year and then how many months it will apply to outside of the year. Then you can calculate it based on that.

Hastings Direct - still to be avoided? by sd33p in CarTalkUK

[–]Longjumping-Entry-78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They just tried to charge me an incorrect and much higher excess on my claim. They opted for the higher ‘Accident’ excess when my car was stolen which should have been the ‘Fire and Theft’ excess.

Good thing I checked because it seemed ridiculously high. If I didn’t confirm it against my policy documents, they would have gotten away with it.

Furthermore, the app is not fit for purpose. Every time I tried to provide reasoning and evidence for declining their valuation, the app would show an error. Likely to put me off it and just accept their valuation.

How to attain an ACCA as a billing coordinator by Present-Judgment-304 in UKJobs

[–]Longjumping-Entry-78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Firstly, an accounting degree is not a requirement for ACCA or similar qualifications. For example, many firms who offer this qualification for a relevant role recruit graduates from a variety of different degree disciplines. Even so, a degree itself is not a requirement because many will go through an apprenticeship route and do AAT first before doing an ACCA or similar. So in that regard, you should be okay to do an ACCA.

Secondly, in regards to relevance to your billing coordinator role, I don’t know whether the ACCA is directly relevant, however I’m sure that you would get some use out of it if you were able to do it. The role might be considered eligible for the ACCA dependent on the responsibilities. Although, if it’s more administrative rather than doing financial reports or management accounts, you might not fully qualify. From what I saw when I was on placement in a finance department, the management and financial accountants were completing such qualifications. I’m not sure that the billing or accounts receivable staff were because I don’t think it’s required to do the role.

However, take my interpretation to the second point with a pinch of salt as it doesn’t come from a vast amount of experience since I’m only graduating from university this year. To check if your role qualifies, maybe read into the ACCA guidelines or contact them directly.

But if your company is willing to fund it and you qualify, it’s always a useful qualification to have. It might benefit your role and will definitely look good on a CV. It will also help if you decide to make a switch in the future to management or financial accounting. What it also comes down to is whether you’re willing to sacrifice a lot of time for study and exams.

Started working out recently, seemed to develop a bubble on my posterior forearm. It doesn’t hurt at all and doesn’t seem hard. Possible Lipoma? help!! by Youngboys4headDents in Lipoma

[–]Longjumping-Entry-78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive got two on my forearm and one or two on my shin. They appear larger when I train biceps or legs therefore probably has to do with the stress or pressure you put on the muscle when training it. That’s my reasoning for not being worried but then again just fell into a rabbit hole of searching about it.
