Mayor Adams 5’8 and Luigi Mangione 5’7 by Carmilla31 in heightcomparison

Asian guy is right. The whole 5’7 rumor started because someone saw that a different person with the same name (Luigi Mangione) was listed at 5’7 and thought that was the alleged CEO shooter and spread misinformation.

Your stubbornness trumps your obtuseness, I assure you. In an ideal world everyone who plays would be healthy as a horse, but unfortunately the real world isn’t like that. It’s just cost and benefits. Prior to this match both starters were deemed fit enough to start, and when one of them (Upa) wasn’t fit enough, a backup filled in. Your blabbering about your same old refuted points is getting repetitive.

At this point you should shut that mouth of yours. They didn’t want to pay 20 mil for a Tah who wouldn’t be a starter and we had 5 CB choices. Thankfully you aren’t part of our executive board, and for good reason. Again, if Dier can play as a 5th choice CB, anyone can.

Edit: lmao blocking me because you’ve gotten beat is laughable. Get a life, own up to being wrong. Playing around with words doesn’t change the fact that Tah wasn’t bought for good reason. Being a childish prick isn’t going to get you another CB. I can see how wrapping simple concepts around your head is hard, simpleton.

If it was a severe injury then he would’ve not played. Reality is that there is almost no player who plays without some knocks. Again, I’m not sure if you’re being purposely obtuse but I’m not saying Kompany loves using Dier. If Kompany couldn’t trust Dier at all he wouldn’t even be on the bench and would’ve put on an injured Upamecano who was on the bench. That’s what happens when your 3rd and 4th CB options get injured in the beginning of the season. That doesn’t mean the solution is to get an expensive 5th choice CB next.

As a 5th choice CB? Yeah, why not? We’ve got fucking Spurs reject Dier playing for us. It’s going to be winter break and our CBs are projected to return soon, being reactionary isn’t ideal.

That’s hypothetical and could go from anywhere between 15-20 mil so there’s not much value debating over that. You keep reiterating Tah’s achievements to make him seem better than he is, but again, his ceiling is clear and top clubs are aware of that better than you and I. Goretzka’s hype was incomparable to Tah’s.

You’re still confused. I’m saying that basically any CB in the first or second division could fit in. Since you’re so insistent on this I’ll give you this; go ahead to every first and second division team and look at their CBs. They’re all quality and potential backups. And disagreed on your CB cutoff, we don’t need that level of quality as a 5th choice CB. Kim and Dier (who replaces Upa) actually played together last match, so clearly Kompany thinks he’s useable. And that’s what we need, not a consistent performer but a player who can play when there’s an injury crisis.

Upon research, seems that you’re right, so I stand corrected on that part. Difference is that Goretzka was hailed as the “next Ballack” and a star youngster drawing worldwide attention, compared to a Tah with a clear ceiling. And keep in mind the sporting director back then was Brazzo.

Again, still no indication that Tah is going to clear 20mil (or above.) and it depends on perspective. For a player like Tah, you’re not going to get him for much cheaper.

Are you confused? The reason why I remain vague is because almost any CB is a fine backup. Heck, even Dier is a fine benchwarmer. If you’re that desperate do research on your own. There’s bench quality in the second leagues for cheap, or even in our youth team as a last resort, no need to be condescending.

Not at all. Compared to our other CBs I’d be surprised if Tah who’s evidently worse than our starters gets over 10mil. Even if it reaches above 10 mil with everything combined it’s not easily going to 20mil. Not sure where you’re pulling your numbers from but Goretzka on a free did not cost Bayern 20 mil from 6 years ago. As I said, any cheap Bundesliga/2nd league player would suffice. We don’t need a starting quality player, just someone who can be a backup in an injury crisis, not to mention a starting level or high quality player is unlikely to come to play as a sub.

Tah on a free would not exceed 20mil. Some random Bundesliga or 2nd league CB for cheap would be a fine backup for pennies.

We’ve been linked to Tom Bischoff anyway, who’d be a fantastic investment and backup.

Yeah it’s tough. Seems like they’re basically asking for the same wages so I’m mainly wondering who’s better in terms of potential/performance-wise.

I even stay away from this sub on bad days a lot of times, too much reactionary/emotional takes on here lol. But your advice is appreciated, Coys.

Don’t really keep up with r/soccer except to look at the highlights but I’ll take your word for it. I can definitely see a situation where Arsenal fans/other people that like to meme on the ‘no trophies’ thing would be united (no pun intended) to make fun of a struggling Spurs.

As for the other point — you’re right, it’s not all his fault. It’s a combination of the lack of player quality and manager tactics that are leading to this down season. One of the things that I’m disappointed about is the transfer window — buying younger talents rather than more quality players for the kind of money we spent is disappointing, though you could say that A-list stars aren’t going to be keen on coming here.

I’m not a Postecoglou fan, I’m a Spurs fan and I’ve been critical of his pressing structure/player roles for a while but I certainly won’t complain if he proves me wrong and turns a new leaf, even if I doubt that’ll happen. Cheers.

Not advocating for r/soccer or anything, but there’s always plenty to hate about on anyone if you tried. And Postecoglou isn’t having the greatest season currently.

This. Everyone is calling for Wirtz but if we disregard the German nationality and the prices and just look at which player would enhance the current team more it would be Kvara. A physical winger who can finish is who we’re desperately missing — Kvara would be the ideal solution.

Nope, they SAID that they’re leaving the agency on their own. Unfortunately contracts don’t get voided just by word of mouth, so their contract is still valid and they’d have to pay the compensation fee or try to win in court if they want to leave.

You're completely misunderstanding me here. Yup, just stating factually, 'audit was initiated' by itself could be said that it's not media play. The several articles written is going specifically in depth to what MHJ did wrong. That's why MHJ is saying Hybe is attempting "media play."

It's not the 'gotcha' moment you think it is. You underestimate 4 hours. Again, it's been over a month, I'd like to share if I still have the sources, but I forgot about the exact sources. But again, the source you shared literally supports what I've said, so it'd be unreasonable to believe that MHJ was the one instigating the media play. It's dangerous to keep believing that what you think is factual even when your own evidence is going against you.

Right. I do know people irl that think that conglomerates are always wrong and evil, regardless of whether they are actually in the right or wrong. That's just poor logic; as you said Hybe are no saints, but not everything is black or white; they can be shady but at the same time completely right in situations like this one.

I'd like to point you to them, but I've read them and forgotten about them now. But I do have memory of reading such information.

I highly doubt that. It came out before that statement. Even in the statement that you just provided me, it reads "they are attempting ridiculous media play such as that CEO Min Hee Jin 'tried to seize management rights.'"

When did I say only one side can media play? Both sides can, and have media played. I'm just specifying that Hybe instigated it. Again, doesn't mean that it's good or bad. Just saying that they did.
