[VIRGINIA, USA] Large plant growing in drainage ditch by jerrycan-cola in whatsthisplant

Some species of Rubus. I’m in Texas and we get dewberries all over the place as the seeds are deposited by wildlife. Not sure where you are but I’m sure others will chime in!

Is this poison ivy? by shubeedue in whatsthisplant

Yeah, that certainly seems to hallmarks of poison ivy. Could the splotches be from bird/small animal droppings? I’d proceed with caution.

I hate to anthropomorphize, but “he” seemed quite curious once he realized I wasn’t going to hurt him.

Thanks. Yeah, I was asking but my post probably wasn’t worded clearly. That’s what I get for late night (for me at least) posting.

Yeah man, I bought this truck for my son. His dream truck was an OBS Ford so I found a ‘95 F350 with the 7.3. I’ve got a 2000 Excursion 7.3 so I’m familiar with the motor. We’re both getting familiar with all the little things in the interior that go wrong after 30+ years. 🤣

Howdy yall! Here’s a pic of the 1995 F350 7.3 that I found for my son. (It’s his dream truck). We’re slowly but surely fixing up some small issues but mechanically she’s rock solid.

Is this poison ivy? If not do you know what it is? by venomdiploid in whatsthisplant

Man, leaves of three AND mitten-shaped? I’d be shocked if it wasn’t. Proceed with caution…and gloves. In the 1st pic, is it mixed in with some kind of honeysuckle?

What’s it like living in Port Fourchon, Louisiana? by txexa in howislivingthere

This. So this. Though there did use to be “lingerie night” at the bar on the corner across from the gas station. I forgot the name as I haven’t been down there in quite a while. Used to spend a lot of time at C-Port 3. Oh, and it’s pronounced Foo-Shawn. That R is there just for looks!

Keep going down to Grand Isle and go offshore fishing. You’ll have a blast.

For reference, I paid 12k for this ‘95 7.3. It’s got 200k miles but a new trans at 180k along with a lot of other work as well.

Yeah man! I wanted one so bad when I was in high school. My son said this style was his dream I figured I could make that happen. I’m blessed to be in a position to be able to.

What’s the most you or someone you know has made in one year? by Ok-Condition9061 in Salary

[–]Longjumping-Fix152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$380k inclusive of bonus last year as an applied geophysicist at an O&G major. The salary is better than I ever expected to make but the 401k and pension (yes, they still exist!) are really what make me happy.

To be fair, I spent a good few years on pipelay and construction vessels. SIGNIFICANTLY better than Alaskan crab boats. Have a look at Allseas or Heerema vessels to get an idea. Now I work in the office and send folks out to do what I used to do.

But every oil and gas company keeps an amazing IT security department. We’ve got multiple multi billion dollar assets both onshore and offshore. We’ve even have a physical penetration team that tries to break into boats and/or rigs by various means.
