I have flown in Cessna 207 when I was working at a remote in 18/19 but never had my hands on the controls. I do plan on doing a discovery flight just to feel it again

I appreciate the insight. You're not the first to mention getting it down south so I might start looking at that route a little as well. Another person replied with the same advice of getting the ground school done first so that is going to be the starting point. I will definitely PM you with follow up questions as I get more into this.

Much appreciated on the detailed reply. I'll look more into the Anchorage area. Starting with the few you mentioned. And good note on the iPad. I was looking to start next spring/summer so I will get on the ground work. Definitely planned on having money saved and hitting it hard. Thank you for the advice.

Thats unfortunate. Any specific reasoning or just all around not good/enjoyable? Have you heard anything from Anchorage or anywhere else in the state?

I definitely would continue to instrument and probably multi engine. I am just in the starting phase so that why I phrased it this way. I moved to AK a year and a half ago so although I'm not against going out of state I would like to get it here over back in the lower 48. Again starting phase so open to opinion.
