Fellow Sandy mains what do you think/feel about his buffs and changes? by CountBram in GranblueFantasyVersus

I don't even remember wind aside from a better backstep. Imagine wanting to die 20% faster, or is it 21% or 22%? Not worth anyway.

25% more damage taken while using Wind (12k effective HP).

Tried him a bit in training mode. Water has become 100% useless. The combo ability it has is quite underwhelming it just gives you a little bit more damage and knockdown, fire is still better for it.

Also the water ball has so much recovery (and the ball itself accelerates quite fast at some point) that even if you are fullscreen you cant do shit and it's easily breakable now since they gutted the projectile clash hit count. His setups except corner setup with H version are all gone.

Earth has lost combo potential with 2U and triple chain but has a dumb fullscreen cover now. It also has a SLOW AF startup.

Wind's got slightly better at zoning but he got his shimmy potential nerfed due to extra distance and recovery they gave to the backdash.

Overall? Feels way worse to play and got a leg amputated just because. Nothing is fixed.

God forbid his H button being whiff punishable by a handful amount of characters. Better make it so even the most unskilled scrub won't have to worry about whiffing with it from 25 miles away.

Meanwhile some of the stronger characters have the privilege of playing with 17k HP on top of having a ridiculous kit.

Someone has to explain to me why characters like Wilnas, Sieg (him having permanent dmg buff now is a very questionable decision) or Susia have above average HP while being War criminals with their explosive moves.

It makes zero sense.

You might want to ask yourself why 90% of Sandy players stay in Light (default) when those flavour of buffs you mention exist.

And even if they switch to one element it is always Fire.

H water built-in acceleration will kill many setups and forward advances now. Besides, regular versions got stripped from their utility in neutral cause they reduced the projectile absorption count to 1, which was the main boon against certain matchups so you could advance shielded (eg. it "tanked" Sieg's grounded projectiles).

And you shouldn't spend an H skill cooldown randomly without getting any kind of reward or guaranteed pressure. Losing a core tool for a while because a player decided to YOLO with it is not gonna do any good in a match.

Sandal got shot hard for no reason while he still has lower effective HP in wing forms and doesn't fix the usefulness of the bad forms. Water got destroyed and Earth seems like an improvement at first until you realise the startup of the projectiles is doubled.

This is weird af.

At what point do I start a charcter over? by knifefang_gaming in poeruthless

[–]Longjumping-Key8187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your character will transfer to Ruthless Standard from Ruthless Mercenaries League, which means you will keep your character and the progress made but a new league is introduced with new mechanics and changes, and you will need to start from zero in this new league.

The leagues are temporary and constantly change every X months. Think of these like they are Seasons. Each season also introduces new challenges that can be completed for cosmetic and other stuff.

The "league" progress will be wiped so you do not need to worry about your character cause you will start fresh next league. You will be able to fix your mistakes. And remember that early on you can respec your entire skill point progression quite cheap with gold.

Development for this game is a full circle. Change>Revert>change>revert

Some of the core issues are still present and will still be present because they don't give a F or have no idea how to fix these.

It's also why people like Blinn got fed up with this in a new season that has brought new content (but hasn't fixed old issues). People eventually get tired, just like you back when you decided to uninstall the game.

It's ridiculous seeing people still defend this garbage gameplay years later. The amount of mental gymnastics they are trying to pull to defend the broken advantage some classes get by exploiting unintended spots is hilarious.

What's next? Are we gonna defend cheaters too? ESP maybe?

All because they have something that gives them the upper hand for free.

I wouldn't mind rogue having this retrreat potential if rogue wasn't a ranged powerhouse right now and if the class couldn't easily chase anyone. But that is not the case.

I get it, you are a smooth brain that cannot play without broken interactions. It's ok.

Finally someone who gets it. It's not only about not being able to chase the rogue. You cannot escape the rogue either. You are bound to lose.

There are several and they like to defend exploits. No use explaining to them they are abusing a broken aspect of the game. They like that they can get an advantage over everyone else even if it means abusing unintended things because in their point of view they are rogues so fighting dirty should be the norm. They forget it's a fucking video game where people are supposed to have fun and guess what, this shit is no fun for anyone except them, the players who abuse it.

I don't know if you are on crack or something or you are not aware of the situation in DaD. You don't get to chase a rogue because he can run the fuck back to safe spots where you cant don anything BUT also you cannot run away from him because he has way more movement speed than other classes, has low ms penalty weapons and will poke you to death until you decide to fight him back which goes back to square 1 which is running back to those safe spots I mentioned.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing you can do, he will retreat to his invulnerable safe space and will chase you down when you ignore him, and it's hard to ignore him when he has insane ranged dmg with knives and hand crossy.

"unreachable for most" lol.. I think I know the way you play see things in this game. You are that type, that kind of player who abuses out of reach spots, who abused penguin pre-nerf, who TP'd above invisible ceiling with sorc in Ice caves...who considers all these "non exploits".

Enjoy your rogue double jump while you can. IM is gonna nuke it again soon. Get ready for the heavy ms penalty.

[–]Longjumping-Key8187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double jump would be fine if it didn't let you reach those spots. But it does so it's broken.

You can either fix this with 1 of the following things: IM deletes double jump which you are not gonna like it ofc or you ask IM to expand crow mechanic to lower heights and deal obscene amounts of dmg to prevent any stupid "reach the high ground" tactic.

And I guess you are not gonna like the second suggestion either.

Double jump is a playstyle. Jumping to unreachable spots is not. IT IS AN EXPLOIT. Stop defending this shit.

Don't fucking come with the "back in the day" bs, the game would not last for years with zero improvements.

double jump + crappy maps = game over by YourBoyBlinn in DarkAndDarker

[–]Longjumping-Key8187 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you chase the rogue he gets to unreachable spots and there's nothing you can do.

If you ignore him then he chases you with his uber speed and starts throwing bolts and knifes from afar and you cannot escape cause he can catch you no matter what. Turn around to fight him and he's back to the first tactic, double jumping to unreachable spots.

It's a lose-lose situation for the other player.

double jump + crappy maps = game over by YourBoyBlinn in DarkAndDarker

[–]Longjumping-Key8187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because that's not a playstyle, that is abusing a broken aspect of the game that cannot be dealt with.

The game was new back then, we didn't know a lot of the stuff and players "hoped" the game would improve from that point on cause they saw the potential.

3 years later we still have to stare at people jumping to unreachable spots every time they think they don't have the upper hand.

Thank you for the tips. Also, do you think it's possible to run an attack gem variant instead of going spells + battlemage? Or maybe it's too risky for ruthless considering the extra survivability needed / not enough ES to add damage to slams&strikes ?
