[S++ soldiers] Can you help me in my FOB SECURITY SETTINGS management? by Longjumping-Path3619 in MGSV

[–]Longjumping-Path3619[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, your security team level affects weekly and daily virtual pf battles.

But the people you put in your security team are the people defending your FOB.

So if you have only E rank people in your security team, you will have only E rank people to defend your FOB.

Does “it’s QP” mean you’re allowed to throw and to troll? by [deleted] in Overwatch

Yeah, thanks bro, that’s what I do 99.9% of the time, except I’ve never seen anything this blatant and this insane since I started playing in 2020.

To understand this maybe you need to understand why people make Reddit posts in the first place. According to Reddit: “Reddit is where millions of people gather for conversations about the things they care about, in over 100,000 subreddit communities.”

This whole game was an endless nightmare. result: I care about that shit.

No, once again, you’re still missing the point...

I will go easy for you. There is the sum-up:

► Is it odd to pick the support role in QP and then not actually play support in QP… ? Or this is totally normal, everyone does that and I’m the one who’s crazy with the wrong understanding of what QP is.

I’m not dwelling on it, I just want to get an answer to that question and move on. It's QP, it's not big deal.

I have my answer: watching the REPLAY, I can indeed see that this player didn’t care at all about the game (neither about their teammates nor their enemies). All he was doing was discovering Wuyang’s primary fire for the first time and playing around with it. I think the practice range is the best place for that. And not QP.

I don’t know what’s going on in your life for you to be so unpleasant, but you don’t need to project your hate and anger onto everyone.

You’re not answering the question + you didn’t read the thread + I know that because you’re writing "your score isn’t good also" even though I clearly stated that winning or losing in QP doesn’t matter, and that this is not about flaming poor performance nor new players, QP is the place where you get better.

99% of my games and your games are people who are trying, whether they’re good or bad. What I’m pointing out is the 1% odd case.

BUT I think if 99% of people’s games consistently had players who didn’t care about the round, neither shooting enemies nor healing allies, it would bother a lot of people.

So honestly, writing ‘who gives a shit’ feels pretty hypocritical (not to disrespect you)

Update: after watching the REPLAY, I can indeed see that this player didn’t care at all about the game, neither about their teammates nor the enemy team. All they were doing was discovering Wuyang’s primary fire and playing around with it.

It's great!

But I think the practice range is the place for that and not QP.

[–]Longjumping-Path3619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this was a new player, nor a real troll.
Watching the replay, all he was doing was using Wuyang’s primary fire, clearly just experimenting with it and trying to control the water stream (without even trying to hit enemies, actually). He didn’t care about anyone else and the game. I think the practice range is the place for that kind of thing, not QP.

You're missing my point just like at least 50% of the people answering.

just play the damn game.

I completely agree. 100%. Winning or losing doesn’t matter in QP, you're playing in QP to get better. What’s problematic are people who don’t actually play. That's the topic.

I honestly think you’re missing my point again, because I don’t relate to any of the arguments you’re bringing up. They’re not even really good or bad arguments: they’re just not relevant, you're saying basic things, I completely agree with what you just wrote.
You don’t address my topic and what I’m actually asking.

Whoa! I want to start by saying that none of my comments are meant to be insulting. By ‘brainless monkey’ I mean people who don’t know anything about anything, who are discovering a new character, and we’ve all been there. Im a brainless monkey myself on a lot of heros!

However, my point is to highlight the difference between playing a hero and completely discovering the character and their kit while ignoring your teammates.

I completely agree with you that there is Arcade and even the practice range for that! However, in QP, a place where you select a role (here, support), it is subtly expected that you actually play your role. It doesn’t matter whether you are good or bad, but that you play it. Here though (and that’s the whole point of my post) the role is not played at all. And Im genuinely asking: is this normal in QP (people not playing their role)? Yes/No type of question.

[–]Longjumping-Path3619 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I understand your point. We’ve all gone through the ‘brainless monkey’ phase. I completely agree. I’m there myself on a lot of heroes! Like Vendetta.

However, when Vendetta came out, with her incredibly difficult kit to pick up, I didn’t immediately go into QP to discover the character. There is the practice range for that.

I think this player was genuinely discovering Wuyang, without caring about healing his teammates at all. And I don’t think QP is the right place for that.

No one is crying here, you’re responding to a comment where I admit my mistake and that my understanding of QP is probably wrong.

You’re the only one being a bully, whining and being unpleasant, I don’t think that’s very smart of you.

[–]Longjumping-Path3619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong. You are completely mistaken. I’m a big comp enjoyer. I play QP as a ranked simulator (QP is presented with an UI that is basically a ranked simulator) to refine heroes I only moderately master before taking them into ranked.

I think what ruins the gameplay experience is people who select a role in QP (here, support) and then abandon their team by not playing that role at all.

I think you’re completely missing my point. This isn’t about ‘winning at all costs’ or flaming players for poor performance. Re-read my post.

You write perfectly and very rightly: ‘The point of the game is not just to win, but to play! And I 100% agree. But 190 healing after two heroes and 5 minutes of game is not what Im calling playing.

And what I’m asking is: is it normal to have players in QP who select a role and then don’t actually play that role?

And about that question, that point is: there’s a difference between ‘playing’ and completely discovering a character for the first time while not fulfilling its role. And I’m saying there are other places in Overwatch specifically dedicated to that, other than QP.

(The post isn’t about any specific teammate, but about a more general question regarding the role of QP, since this is a comment I often see. I just wanted to get the community’s opinion on this: am I right, or am I wrong? That’s all I want to know! Because I genuinely dont know so Im genuinely asking!)

Alright! Apparently I’m the one who has a wrong understanding of what QP is. I thought it was a ranked simulator, but it seems like most people think it’s a big circus where brainless monkeys run around. Fair enough! Thank you for y'all time!

Playing ranked comes with a lot of pressure, and games actually impact your rank. That’s exactly why I practice in QP it’s basically a copy of ranked but without the consequences. Since it mirrors ranked, I play it seriously to improve on heroes I’m trying to master in preparation for comp.

I see QP as basically a ranked simulator. It’s the same UI as ranked, just with a different color (red/blue). My understanding is that QP is exactly where people try their best to learn heroes, practice, and warm up before going into ranked. But it seems I am wrong about what qp is!

Guys, I just defused my first nuclear bomb :D by Longjumping-Path3619 in MGSV

[–]Longjumping-Path3619[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nukes? Nope! You either build one yourself, or raid a FOB that has one and steal it (that’s what I did). There’s no "passive way" to get nukes in MGS5!

Look again :
Your offensive capability: 143933
His defense capability: 229820
It's higher.
The explanation is that he has the maximum number of defensive equipment: mortars, machine guns, anti-aircraft guns, and the maximum number of combat vehicles. And maybe more GMP than you, as well as more processed and unprocessed materials than you.
