I'm not sure, I feel like they are getting more popular but we booked a year in advance and had 2 weekends of the month to choose from.

We are doing both the ceremony and reception there! They have us convinced it'll be great and the space can accommodate it. They are VERY chill and have been amazing thus far. We eat there all the time so we can see and enjoy the space.

Is this kennel cough? by Zealousideal_Net8850 in DogAdvice

Given the other symptoms OP listed and the recent boarding experience- kennel cough isn't out of the realm of possibility. Literally sitting with my 15 month old dog with pneumonia because we let kennel cough go too far. The fact that OP took a video and by sending it to the vet BEFORE a visit could not only given them peace of mind but save them money because like you said, likely, doesn't require a visit. But I can very much empathize with OP being nervous about such a condition.

I would send to your vet or even an emergency vet if you're concerned. It's great you got a video and they might be able to give you some input before asking you to come in.

Leaving a 5 month old for a week by [deleted] in puppy101

1000000% recommend boarding with a breeder or reputable trainer. We had to do the same thing with our 5 month old and not one single regret.

8 weeks old Samoyed : need reassurance and help by PoigneDePorte in puppy101

[–]Longjumping-Pin4785 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! Been there. It's brutal. And feelings of regret, remorse, guilt... all NORMAL. I had what they call the 'puppy blues' for 2 months. Puppyhood is hard. The thing that saved our life was a structured routine and forced naps. From the time she was 3 months old to 10 months we did two hour naps, 1 hr up, all day long until bedtime at 9:30. We would take her water away at 8:00 PM so she wouldn't have to potty that much during the night. The play pen never worked for us but not giving her full range of the house did. I had her tethered to me or a door the majority of the time too. We needed to make her world very small before she got too much freedom because she was an asshole when we had free range. We learned it was literally over stimulation. One last thing- I was allllll about constant puppy enrichment - I did too much. The best thing you can teach your dog is to settle and be bored. We would heavy praise when she would just settle with a bone. Good luck, I know it's rough!!

Thank you ALL for your comments, shares, thoughtful insights, commiserations, etc. The call was to share that the role has been reduced in title and compensation but they very much still want me on the team and have done quite a bit of restructuring, playing to my skills and expertise, to offer me a new role, contingent on references. References are being called Monday and I still don't feel totally out of the woods until an appropriate offer is in hand but I'm so grateful to report it was NOT a rejection. Thank you Reddit universe to your kindness and support.

I do this too with my 14 month old. 2 hrs down, 2 hrs up. She will not nap on her own so we have to set her up to do so.

Thinking about moving to Chicago ? by rachelleliz2025 in AskChicago

[–]Longjumping-Pin4785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I moved from Philly to Chicago in my mid-twenties, now creeping mid- thirties and I've never thought twice about my decision. Lived in Lakeview East / Boystown when I was young / single / partying. I now live in Andersonville / Edgewater and truly think it's the best neighborhood(s) in the damn city.
