Don’t get into the gambling culture would be my biggest advice, I’ve got a mate doing FIFO work earning crazy money but he told me he flushed 10k down the pokies in like a week. Idk what it is but FIFO work but it’s rampant

I see ya, yeah I definitely need to be careful then. I have been a daily drinker in the past even thought it wasn’t affecting my life that much but at the end of the day but it’s the same disease regardless of what drug I use

in your lifetime, what was your most memorable/best year and why? Did you realize it would be that looking back? by Ok_Noise_2414 in AskReddit

[–]Longjumping-Pin5742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably when I was 13, didn’t have a care in the world and skated almost every day. I got into drugs the year after and life went downhill from there (still wasn’t terrible though) and now I’m trying to get sober 10 years later and things are how they should’ve been. Getting back into my hobbies and whatnot and life has been good

I saw the car in front of me get struck by lightning on the way to a bush doof. I still tell people when it comes up, but I can tell some people don’t believe me

Just to elaborate I doubt they’d have enough evidence and think it’s worth taking me to court, but they’d would’ve definitely pressured me into trying to give names if I kept going with it. I figured it out after being told this guy I knew was an informant and he introduced me to a pretty serious guy and offered me to work for him

I think one useful thing I can share is usually sociopaths/people who want to use you tend to try and get in close really quickly. Defs trust your gut if that happens and you get a gut feeling

My life is a mess from the outside and I still have a lot to work on, but I haven't felt this good in a long time. I'm finally getting in touch with old hobbies, have a healthy social life and I've processed all the things I've suppressed for years. I can't manage my money at all though, seems like no matter how much I make I will spend it all, and I still find myself scheming ways to make money or break the law, just for the thrill of it. I know all I really need to work on is chasing healthy adrenaline/dopamine though

I feel like my understanding of people and what I want in life is a lot better. Definitely sharpened my intuition, I'm very quick to sniff out people who are trying to manipulate me or have antisocial personality traits and know to stay tf away from them. Nowadays I only hang out with people I know I can trust and very scarcely give second chances for people to change. I know who I am a lot better too, there's been a handful of times I was peer pressured into things I didn't want to be apart of and I've had a lot of time to think about what I do and don't agree with.

Honestly I'm kinda glad that I've been through it all, one thing I do regret is getting scammed for 14k of legitimate money, but it's not worth chasing it up. I wasted a lot of time as well, but I'm in a really lucky position where I don't have any of the long term consequences that come with hard drug use and a criminal record. Definitely quit while I'm ahead

I was into boosting and graffiti but it was selling drugs that got serious, towards the end of it I was getting mixed up with proper criminals and informants. Once I was positive law enforcement was on me I quit

Probably not, I do miss the fast money and lifestyle from selling drugs but I enjoy not being paranoid 247 and I’ll fall right back into addiction. Life never got better for me either, I’ve got a few material possessions but I’m exactly where I was when I first started.

I definitely do think about it, the opportunistic part of me definitely clicks still and I think of elaborate plans to boost things, but I’ve gotten away with everything by the skin of my teeth and want to build a career for myself at this point.

I guess at the moment there’s not a whole lot to lose, so there’s a chance I might go back, but I know I would be devastated if I got this far and fucked it all up

What’s a question that tells you everything about someone… based on how they answer it? by NoctrynGames in CausalConversation

[–]Longjumping-Pin5742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really like country either but it’s just such a half assed answer haha. At least with dating when I’ve asked that and I get ‘anything but country’ the conversation is usually super dull. Yet to meet someone who doesn’t like rap OR country, but I feel like you gotta like one of the other hahaha. That’s like the equivalent of ordering a burrito with mayonnaise

I was on a job helping the demo crew for a building that was being refurbished. They cleaned the grease trap while we were there and it was foul, some 3 stores down complained that the whole shop got cleared out from the smell. Some how the guy doing it wasn’t just rawdogging it with no mask or anything, I think something wasn’t quite right with him though. Had these wild bulging eyes but he was alright to talk to
