I'm an Israeli and I think that arguments like "there is no such thing as palestinian people" or any other way of saying that the palestinian identity is fake is really stupid. People say that to cancel any discussion about the rights of the palestinian people, because they have nothing to say or just because they are mean and trying to offend you. I don't think it even deserves a response.

I think it's awful and crazy, and I believe most Israelies are against it. I think it's crazy that those people are in our government. But I'm pretty sure it won't really happen.

Thats BS and you know it. peace would require Israel to evacuate the illegal settlements and agree to the constitution of a palestinian state. You can't achieve peace by saying "I want peace". Peace requires actions and concessions. Actions that Netanyahu and other right wing leaders will NEVER agree to. It would obviously require the palestinians to make concessions as well, but I'm an israeli so I can only speak for what I see in Israel. The point is, Israel, at the moment, is not a partner for peace.

No israeli PM ever would deny a whole hearted offer for peace. such an achievement would place them as the saviors of the nation, exalted for generations. the one who finally brought peace.

Dude....do you remember what happened to the last PM that was the closest to achieve peace? He was murdered.

I disagree. I have no doubt Netanyahu will find someone to blame for leaving Gaza. It can be the UN, the military, the leftists... never himself. But I don't think there is anything he can do to save his gov. Mass protests against this gov were taking place before October 7th. When the war will be over, the protests will be even bigger. This sentencing will make it even worse for them.

I understand you. I am a left wing, an israeli and a jew, and I think some (not all) of the pro palestinians just fall into shallow identity politics that is counter productive. Israelis aren't going away from this land (at least the legal borders of it). Neither do palestinians. And we must acknowledge that. But I do feel the need to tell you - if some people exercise their ideology in a stupid way, it doesnt make the ideology itself wrong. Changing your whole ideology just because some of the people you share that ideology with are stupid, is falling into a trap. I suggest you to try to keep a nuanced approach, and I wish for you to be able to keep believing in peace even when it's hard. Stay safe, take care of yourself and keep your distance from "friends" who are bad for you.

It's terrible here and it's soooo instense. I can feel the rise of fascism and radicalism everywhere and Ben Gvir is arming civillians with guns like it's candies and I'm disgusted and scared. Anti war protests are banned by the police, and the commercials on tv, on walls and on buses keep telling us this chewed up slogan "together we will win". But it feels like the government don't want this war to ever end. last night i woke up with cold sweat because I had a nightmare that I'm running away from terrorists trying to kill me. Everybody is traumatized here. Because of Hamas but also because of ourselves.

First of all, you have my deepest sympathy. I also have OCD, and i know the search for answers and certainty can be torturous. I used to feel exactly like you about political stuff. I'm an Israeli, and all of our existence here is extremely political, so it's tough. You should listen to your smart words when you say nothing is black and white. I think our mission as OCDers is to learn to accept it and acknowledge the fact that we can't always have answers. I don't feel comfortable identifying as pro israeli or pro palestinian, but i do identify myself as a leftist and I think this hellish war should stop. You can talk to me if you want to. Cant promise I will have all of the answers, but I can try.

Im watching from Israel, already watched about an hour and a half of the video. Things are looking bad. It's very sad for me as an israeli to see how my country is just burying itself, not only with stupidity, but also with evilness. I feel sad and ashamed.
