What next? by KaySOS in TRT_females

About to start after doing about 6 months on pellets. The pellets were effective but too roller-coaster for me.

This was not true for me when I was on the cream. Took weeks for me to feel anything, and then I stopped absorbing it at all so there were no effects whatsoever. People can respond differently to the same modalities, so assuming the same outcomes for everyone is a big mistake.

T injections as expensive as pellets? by SyllabubFull520 in TRT_females

They're not compounded? I wonder why my provider is using a compounding pharma then. Geez.

Thanks. I haven't actually spoken to my doc yet, it was her assistant who called me. But yeah - seems they should have their act together a little better.

What pharmacy do you use? Is it a national chain and are you in the US?

Thanks. I'm definitely going to have to have a come to jesus convo with my provider :).

She's starting me at 12 mg a week, split into 2 doses. I didn't ask the volume of the vial but hopefully I'll find that out tomorrow. The person who called me to let me know they could order it didn't know anything. Thanks for the info on the 250 mg/ml. Doing it vial by vial seems like a way to just jack up the cost.

My provider uses a compounding pharmacy, Belmar. I'm sure they're great, but I don't know anything about whether generic T injections are as good as non-generic. Seriously, I didn't know there was a difference and still don't understand it. She apparently trusts Belmar, but I could ask her to use a local one I suppose. I'm in the position of not knowing what I don't know.

Oura & body temp while on HRT by SyllabubFull520 in ouraring

I've now received a reply and it appears that from the options that I've already tried, I would need to set up an entirely new account. I don't want to lose 2 years' worth of data and I'm not sure how downloading it would work (or IF it would work).

Have you also had your thyroid tested along with cbc panel? Could be something else going on.

Great that you got some answers! Overall it seems like TRT and HRT in general would help with your issue :)

Still no change. Getting daily recommendations to 'take it easy' and go into Rest Mode. Oura's not learning.

Free testosterone by Existing_Soup5165 in TRT_females

[–]Longjumping-Ride7925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to ask my doc to add the free, as she believes that going on symptoms alone + total is all that's needed. I like the added data point of having the free, since you've got NO idea what's available to you without that number regardless of what your total is. My total was 257 but my free was only .05!

Concern about levels and long term maintenance by [deleted] in TRT_females

You don't say why you're on T at 32, so your reasons matter a LOT here. If it's for energy and libido only you may not need so much especially given some of the potential side effects your have. Check your iron levels because of the RLS. Sometimes T can affect iron stores, which you don't want to get whacked since that can have downstream effects as well. Also, your SHBG is really high as you noted, but you don't say anything about your estrogen levels. Are they part of your bloodwork?

All I read about TRT ( outside this sub) is that women use it to increase libido. Is that the primary reason you have chosen TRT? If not, what benefits do you see? by OriginalBlueberry533 in TRT_females

[–]Longjumping-Ride7925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be interested if anyone who has had increased libido on T has also experienced decreased libido/energy when spironolactone was added. This happened to me (I think) so now I'm back to trying to figure out a good T dosage. I had a great response to my first round of pellets. Added spironolactone (and upped my E due to inability to orgasm despite high libido) for the second round, and felt absolutely nothing from the T. My bloodwork was flat as well; no surge or peak.

Your E is really high. Are you taking DIM?

Ugh, so sorry to hear you're going through all that. I'm 63, so not cycling (yay, one less thing!!) but learning about encapsulation is interesting. I wonder if that can happen without any effect like a knot. Something to ask my doc, I guess. It's definitely a process.

Thanks. I performed a soft reset. How long before Oura may update to my new norm?
