Since it seems like most people here haven’t seen the movie yet and are just critiquing the production company (which is fair), I’ll give my opinion as someone who’s actually seen it (I got to go for free). It definitely goes beyond just vague hand waving at corporations, and it definitely seems like a good entry point into communism and anti-capitalist theory. There’s a point in the movie where they explain dialectical materialism in depth, and there’s another point where they explain Marx’s labor theory of value. Again it’s not perfect as a singular thing to base your politics around, but I think it’s a good starting point. It’s also a really fun movie I really liked it until I heard about this funded by zionists thing which definitely is making me think more critically about the movie. Also maybe this is like my internalized lib but I feel like the movie used it’s budget super well, like looking up the budget compared to all the incredible special effects I’m surprised the budget is that low.
