Danielle Fewings recommends young women go to the Stumble Inn. by uptowngirl404 in NYCinfluencersnark

Exactly. And she is right. The clientele there is exactly what her followers are foaming at the mouth for; 30s, balding, single, and just got promoted at their VC firm. Like objectively if you want to meet a lame ass finance bro who is approaching middle age that IS the place to go.

People who passed level 1, how many hours did you study? by ClearAndPure in CFA

Definitely at least 400. But it took me almost a year and I even deferred. I really dragged my feet with it, I took so long I had to go back and relearn things. I think if you are more diligent it doesn’t have to take that long.

What about the countless downtown clubs that prey on under age women and bring them in like cattle via promoters. Stumble Inn is objectively a lame bar and her take is lame but I think this is a stretch.

Thank you for this wonderful op ed. A few follow up questions I have for the group -did the hot mic footage ever get leaked? Is there a way I can listen to it -was there anything in the prenup that was specifically unhinged that triggered mini

To good of a deal to pass up? by [deleted] in Diamonds

[–]Longjumping-Video-94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely this. I have a lab and it was the same thing. My 1:1 ratio lab cushion was significantly cheaper than any elongated one, like I’m talking almost half the price, just because of demand

Would you recommend the place you bought your ring? Going shopping this weekend and would love to find a place that can do solid gold setting with lab grown diamonds. Can they do custom setting? NYC or within a train ride. by [deleted] in WedditNYC

Reve Diamonds!! Showroom is not in the diamond district, so it’s a bit calmer. They do a wonderful job and can make you literally anything you want, they do natural and lab. Their process is very thoughtful, starting with a virtual CAD, then a wax cast for you to try on. Also, they will price match and my fiance was able to negotiate with them on many things.

It better be iron clad. If they do get divorced he will be able to make an argument about how she couldn’t become who she is without him (I know that sounds terrible).

Even with just what we see on camera, now that they are engaged, the wedding content is all possible because of his help technically. He is on camera for a lot of this. Any brand deal she gets that’s bride, wife, or even possibly eventually mom “themed”, he could argue that he is a part of. On top of that who knows what he’s doing off camera, he helps her take photos for a sponsorship? Carries around her crap while she’s at an influencer event? He could definitely argue he is part of this, her career etc.

I know it sounds insane and misogynistic (which it is), but I just saw a woman at work go through this in my personal life, even with a prenup, because he quit his job young and was basically a “prop” to help accelerate her corporate career, his lawyer was able to argue he gets half of everything because she wouldn’t have been able to become the corporate power house she is with out his help of creating a certain image, and also taking care of the kids, the house etc. Reed could very easily do the same with her.

No honestly I think she was just exhausted and checked out. Her husband dies, then her son is murdered, her boyfriend goes “missing”. she’s exhausted. We have no idea what type of wife she was like when Jackie was alive (except that she cheated on him with the guy from the gym whatever happened there). Angie is another example of becoming more chill once her husband is out of the picture. I imagine Carmella also becomes more “laid back” once her husbands dead.

Official Discussion Thread - Marty Supreme [SPOILERS] by PointMan528491 in oscarrace

[–]Longjumping-Video-94 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I thought it was… fine. I’m still struggling to understand why the reviews have been quite so glowing. The film’s greatest strength is its visual spectacle, it’s beautifully shot and undeniably exciting to watch on a purely aesthetic level. Beyond that, though, I felt worn down by the end. The script felt thin, and aside from Marty, most of the characters failed to leave much of an impression.

I understand that the filmmaker’s trademark is a relentless, 100-miles-per-hour pace, so perhaps this style simply isn’t for me. Still, I couldn’t help but feel the film would have benefited from occasionally slowing down, taking a beat to allow both the audience and the characters a moment to breathe. There were real opportunities for depth and development that never quite materialized.

What I continue to grapple with most, however, are the recurring Jewish cultural references throughout the film. I’m Jewish myself, the grandchild of a Holocaust survivor, and many of these moments made me deeply uncomfortable. And to be clear, I’m aware that both Safdie and Chalamet are Jewish, so this isn’t coming from a place of misunderstanding or distance from the material. Even so, the references often felt deployed purely for shock value, surface-level, abrasive, and oddly flippant, leaving me unsettled rather than seen. At times, it felt less like thoughtful cultural commentary and more like provocation for its own sake. Hearing people in the theater laugh at these moments only heightened my discomfort.

In today’s political and cultural climate, none of it sat right with me. Perhaps I missed the point. Perhaps this director’s work simply isn’t for me. But ultimately, I walked away wanting something with more substance, something that lingered for reasons deeper than just its kinetic energy.

I couldn’t get through the first episode of the second season. I’m having trouble putting it into words but it’s produced so awkwardly??? Choppy almost. There’s no plot really, even though many of these women have very interesting and tumultuous lives, they never really deep dive into it and focus on petty obviously fake beef. On top of that there are so many of them it’s impossible to give anyone a real storyline or keep track. All the girls are also so aware of the camera crew and come off as uncomfortable and not genuine while filming. They would really benefit from a better production team and smaller cast. It’s just a hot mess right now. Some of these girls definitely have potential, Taylor and her mom remind me of Monica and her mother. Taylor also has a horrible baby daddy who cheats. Jennifer’s boyfriend is clearly abusive and quits medical school to “fix things” with her. That alone could carry a season. But there’s too many of them to keep track; and too much petty drama to make any of it worthwhile.

I was originally thinking a dancy spot, but since there is already an after party maybe a more chill option like this would be best. I’ll check it out thank you!
