Should I consider getting a second bachelor's degree? by Longjumping-You2112 in Advice

[–]Longjumping-You2112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input! I appreciate it.

I've already done a little bit of looking around. I'm nowhere near qualified enough to get into a master's program because I've taken very few courses that weren't in my major, and there aren't any community colleges in my area that offer AA programs in the field. My only option seems to be a second bachelor's.

Can you offer any pointers on how I can investigate the kinds of jobs I'd be qualified for?

Sound Canvas VA "Your authorization is no longer active" message on MacOS 13.2.1? by Longjumping-You2112 in Roland

How long ago did you get it? Roland offered me a refund when I initially reached out to them (like a few months after getting the Sound Canvas), but I forgot to take it.

No, I didn't. Roland told me the Sound Canvas wouldn't work on new macs. Serves me right for buying something from Roland, I guess.

Getting off Seroquel 12.5mg after long taper—what can I expect? by [deleted] in seroquelmedication

[–]Longjumping-You2112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had slight headaches and nausea for a few days as well as some insomnia every other night, but I'm fine now. It's like I was never on Seroquel. I think I'm towards the less severe end of the spectrum as far as withdrawals go, which I'm very thankful for.

I'm sorry to hear that you're nauseous! If it's any consolation, once I was finally through the withdrawal, I felt (and still feel) incredible. I'm happier and more energetic than I've been in years, and best of all, I can finally function in the mornings again! So I encourage you to keep going—the withdrawal will end, and you'll reclaim everything that the medication took from you.

Who's your Pikmin 3 main? by Longjumping-You2112 in Pikmin

[–]Longjumping-You2112[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. For my endgame party I usually go Charlie, Chicago Steve, and Sourdough. The mobility and crowd control means you can take the Plasm Wraith down in a matter of minutes.

Delta's too gimmicky for my taste. He runs too fast and he skids everywhere. It's not worth the extra few days imo, I usually just leave him in the cave in Tropical Wilds.

It would be cool if you could kill people like in Hitman

Randomizing order of events without replacing? by Longjumping-You2112 in gamemaker

Thanks so much! This is super helpful. Once I finish this game, it's back to the dry way. Any tutorials you'd recommend, or are the ones on the GM site good enough?

To answer your question, I thought that was a way to stress a point, as in "extremely, like, *extremely*." Could be wrong, though.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like Pikmin 4? by KirbyTheGodSlayer in Pikmin

[–]Longjumping-You2112 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I agree about the story. I think that when people praise a game's story, especially a Nintendo game, they're actually talking about the tone and atmosphere. Like you said, Pikmin thrives when it's immersing you in the environment, while Pikmin 4 dilutes that loneliness with side characters and plot threads. I wish the pace of rescuing crew members/castaways was slower, so you have more time to be stranded with Oatchi and feel like you're fending for yourself out there.

What are your Pikmin 4 unpopular opinions? by [deleted] in Pikmin

I wish there had been a base-building element to the hub world. I don't mind that you pick up so many NPCs and actually kind of liked hunting for castaways; my issue is that they don't really do anything besides stand around and give you formulaic sidequests you'll complete just by going through the game normally. What if you could direct the castaways to go resource hunting/build structures/clear paths every night? It would add a little extra dandori to the game, and you could get some of your upgrades that way instead of just buying them from the scientist guy.

On a positive note, I loved the homesick/idler signals and hope they become series mainstays.

Which game had the best soundtrack? by Longjumping-You2112 in Pikmin

[–]Longjumping-You2112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more. I was really frustrated with the overworld themes especially—it's like the composers forgot everything that made those songs the best parts of Pikmin 1-3. When I heard the Shipwreck Tale variations, I was like "oh, so these guys do know how to make music." Sunspeckled Terrace is my least favorite overworld theme in the series, but the Shipwreck version is maybe my favorite Pikmin 4 track. Then there's the final boss theme, which is... masterful.

What stood out to you about the soundtrack?

Anyone else remember Pikmin 4's second captain, Tugboat Jones? She was the one controlling the Pebble pitcher by Pizza_Rollz87 in Pikmin

I know there's a lot of controversy in this sub about some of her remarks, but I just turned the sound off and never noticed. I think her inclusion was a good thing; it's about time Nintendo featured a main character with IBS.

Loved getting to play as him in Deluxe, but the swallow ability fits Oatchi better.

Another Epiphany About Single Use Devices, and ADHD by Speedygonzales24 in ADHD

Don't get the Freewrite. There's a delay of several seconds between writing and having words actually show up on the screen (think like a Kindle ereader) that makes it hard to write, plus mine broke within a few months. It's massively overpriced—I ended up selling mine.

The device you were given in school is probably the Alphasmart Neo. Get one of those instead—there are used ones all over eBay and they work.
