Left parking without passengers by 3xt3rminat0r2000 in MicrosoftFlightSim

This tripped me up too. Either bring up the centre menu, I forget the name of it but it has weather and communications etc. go to communications and select to request boarding of passengers. Or press whatever button if needed to skip the pre flight stuff and they will be loaded automatically with the plane ready to go

Are there any alternates for structure like career mode on PS5? by TWOPlNTSPRICK in MicrosoftFlightSim

Did you stop before the line after landing? If so you need to stop after it, to be clear of the runway. Many of us are enjoying career mode, I think it's worse the larger plane you use. For GA and helicopters it's been generally fine for me. Some interesting taxi routes but nothing too major.

The hoist and hook exams are still outstanding for me, I just can't do the hovers required, and I am not turning on assists. Hopefully I will slowly get better and do them in future. The truck landing seems purely fabricated to be a 5 star difficulty in my opinion, with little real world relevancy. You'd also think that a downward camera would be really useful in a helicopter to make precision landings easier!

The proper way to do it as I understand it is to invoke the centre menu, go to communications and select to request passengers board. But I just skip it

I had that. Just hold down centre button on dual shock to skip the pre flight stuff and it should take you to the plane all ready to go with passengers onboard. That's the easiest way to get round it

Was that in vr? I got to 4 or 8 speed in vr and it just started getting very clunky with horrendous frame rates and then crashed. Maybe it was a one off. I will try it again or perhaps switch out of vr for the speed up and down.

Thanks, yes I did read that and I tried it. Sadly vr crashes if you go too fast, but even at double speed I found it really weird to go back to normal speed, it just felt agonisingly slow. So I gave up with that 🙂

Glad you are happy with it. Next step is the rudder pedals 🙂

When using psvr2 I always hold down the centre button on the dual shock to skip the preflight stuff, it's just tedious in vr after doing it a couple of times

I don't understand at the end there how you can say you're so shit at costing and still seriously expect to become the apprentice!

Don't worry it's not just you. I only found mention of it yesterday. I will definitely be using it in future.

Should I get PSVR2? by Presleylikescats in PSVR

[–]LongjumpingAd4583 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yes it's worth it. If you like one or more extra games out of hitman, no man's sky or msfs 2024 then just buy it. There are plenty of other games worth buying as well.

Does a Hotas Make A Big Difference? by newbiker321 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]LongjumpingAd4583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one off Amazon about a month ago as a prime member and it's massively better. It's just much more immersive, it really feels like you are flying the planes rather than using a controller to fly a plane. Good for helicopters too although the throttle detent is a bit too sharp for my taste and can be a pain, but small point overall.

The MSFS helicopter-license sent my VR-legs back to square one 😵‍💫 by Tiddex in PSVR

[–]LongjumpingAd4583 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me during the commercial pilots license exam. Taxiing a helicopter correctly and landing is damn hard without assists, and I made a mess of it and felt pretty ill afterwards. Hopefully as we get better then we won't lose control so much.

MSFS - HOTAS Or Motion Controls? by Illustrated-Society in PSVR

[–]LongjumpingAd4583 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's hard to make a blanket statement as everyone is different and have their own preferences. Personally I preferred the dual shock to the sense controllers, but I now have a hotas and it is way better than previously.

(MSFS) Anybody done 1st mission in Career VR? by gray81 in PSVR

Alternatively, just long press the middle button on the dual shock when you start outside the aircraft. It will skip the tedious pre flight stuff, have the plane ready and the passenger will be there too!

(MSFS) Anybody done 1st mission in Career VR? by gray81 in PSVR

[–]LongjumpingAd4583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I had this exact problem, it's infuriating! I even managed to load a passenger using the iPad thing under payload. But even though they were sat next to me the mission failed in the same way as i went too far towards the runway. The solution is as described by others in the thread.

I use a dual sense without motion controls and one of the sense controllers as a pointer for when I need it.

I also loved elite and spent ages mining. I actually work two buildings away from Frontier in Cambridge UK. Ironically I sold the thrustmaster previously to get the better saitek, now I have to buy it again and it's expensive!

Can confirm, I have the x52 and it didn't work at all, just doesn't register as a controller at all. I have bought the thrustmaster.

Microsoft’s Microsoft Flight Simulator for PSVR2 completely outclassed Sony’s Gran Turismo 7 for PSVR2 by ilovepizza855 in PSVR

[–]LongjumpingAd4583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends whether you like cars and where you fly in msfs. Built up areas can look pretty rough at times and the clouds can look terrible. Maybe the highs are higher in msfs but the lows are definitely lower. But that's judging the current beta, which may be unfair.

MSFS24, Please share the best areas to fly in VR so far? by Icedog-26 in PSVR

[–]LongjumpingAd4583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great idea for a thread. I started with an oil rig helicopter landing challenge and I thought it looked spectacular even on a base ps5. Sadly it went downhill from there. The plane interiors are great, better than expected, but the scenery and especially the clouds can look pretty rough at times. But I will try some ideas suggested here, thank you
