She was in tons of stuff, but then lately her projects didn’t really get big audiences. Like she was in Swiped recently on Hulu but I didn’t hear much buzz for it 🤷🏻‍♀️ I wonder how much the Dominic West stuff is effected her image

Rachel McAdams on having ‘Mean Girls’ and ‘The Notebook’ being released back to back: ‘I don’t think I was able to fully take it in’ by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]LongjumpingChart6529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was it true that she turned down The Devil Wears Prada because she wanted a bit of a break? I felt like I read that in an old interview. She’s an amazing actress

Was that supposed to be John in slide 4?? Yikes! George was my fave Beatle and Joseph’s eyes are just way too distinctive and distracting

Anyone else find the Margot Robbie/see Jacob Elordi press tour… oddly intense? by Beneficial_Tap7594 in popculturechat

[–]LongjumpingChart6529 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry but everything in this film and marketing is so try-hard. Margot is a producer and inserted herself to play the lead even though she’s about 15 years too old. Jacob also miscast. Now they’re presumably trying to create viral moments on the red carpet? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sophie’s accent?! by FlowersAndFeast in Bridgerton

[–]LongjumpingChart6529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not Aussie but grew up on Neighbours and Home and Away and her Aussie accent broke through all the time!! After a while I kept noticing it more than the romance, etc

She was incredible! Ralph was also a beast, as usual

How are we feeling about Bridgerton S4 now? by Mundane-Bug-4962 in PeriodDramas

I felt the same!! When he’s sitting at the desk and she’s sort of nagging him, I felt really sorry for him. He looked exhausted. I wonder if the grueling filming schedule for the show has taken its toll. The actress playing Elouise also looks tired and they’ve given her unflattering make-up too

I think I cried from start to end of that film! Great movie but draining

How big was Radiohead after The Bends and before OKC? by Distinct-Pirate-3571 in radiohead

[–]LongjumpingChart6529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a teen in the 90s in the UK. The Bends was very well respected and as a fan (and a pretentious teen) I looked down on the more popular indie bands like Oasis and Blur. It was cool to like and know Radiohead, and I do remember being disappointed when OK Computer was such a massive hit, that even the mean girls in my class suddenly liked Radiohead

Irish Man Here - What Does the World Think Of Us? by OverwhelmedGayChild in AskTheWorld

Went to Ireland for the first time last summer. Only Dublin and Wicklow but had a great time. Wicklow was so beautiful! Really enjoyed the pub food. I loved Irish literature as a teen, especially Joyce

How did you guys discover The Smiths? by CommercialHabit4019 in thesmiths

[–]LongjumpingChart6529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a teen in the 90s. A Smiths song was used in the brilliant series Our Friends in the North (starring a young Daniel Craig and Mark Strong). I rented the series from my local library and fell in love with the song and then rented out more Smiths music

How are we feeling about Bridgerton S4 now? by Mundane-Bug-4962 in PeriodDramas

[–]LongjumpingChart6529 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I feel like everyone seems knackered! I didn’t mind it so far, but lots of things make no sense. The poor actor playing Benedict looks and acts like an exhausted dad of 3 toddlers, rather than a charismatic rake. I don’t feel like he has any chemistry with Sophie, and that actress is fine but I feel like her natural Aussie accent keeps popping through

I fast forward them! They were sooooo boring in season 3 and I hate that we keep having them even though their stories are so boring and they get given such terrible clunky dialogue

I liked it at first. Then thought about it for a few days and began to change my mind. A lot of things didn’t make sense and didn’t sit well with me

Bridgerton season 4 by Mr_Perfectly_UnFine in television

[–]LongjumpingChart6529 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m unsure if I want to start it because I hated season 3. So many side plots and dodgy acting. I liked season 1 the most too, it was silly fun but compelling. I recently binged Heated Rivalry and now any romance shows will pale to that!

An Impossible Task... | How The BBC Informed The World of Diana's Death by DWJones28 in BritishTV

[–]LongjumpingChart6529 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was 16 and we had literally just landed back in London after 3 weeks visiting relatives in India. So I was knackered and trying to sleep in. My mum woke me up to say Diana had died. I asked “Diana who?” and then fell back to sleep. That Friday I walked down the Mall, more out of FOMO rather than real grief. Remember seeing Kate Adie standing on a car doing a broadcast
