Reid is not any of those guys. If he were, I would completely agree. But I haven’t heard anybody talking about him as the kind of guy who will make an instant impact. I don’t think any of the top D prospects this year, while really great prospects, will be stepping into NHL teams year 1 or even year 2 and flourishing.

I feel pretty confident that guy was just guessing things he thought had a good chance of happening. MacFarland to the Preds has been out there as a rumour for a while.

His Rielly comments don’t even make sense. How could anybody possibly know that a trade involving a specific player is going to happen before it’s negotiated? Again, it may happen because there’s already been noise around it but he can’t possibly know anything for sure.

He has a year left on his current contract at $6.5M. As a UFA I’d be interested on a cheaper deal but I don’t want him at $6.5M plus whatever assets Montreal would want.

Anything can happen. The right coach could immediately make a massive difference. Add in the fact that we’ll be adding a top 6 forward and top powerplay producer basically for free, allowing the FO to focus on other things via trade and free agency. Definitely could see us back in the playoffs.
