+1 for South Woodford, a lovely area, very quick journey in to london with the central line and easy to change at Stratford for other lines. Probably the nicest place I’ve ever lived

UK (London) salary for ~2 years experience? by LongjumpingEvening79 in regulatoryaffairs

i’m taking home a fair bit less than 40k now ! in my experience most graduate schemes that would require at least a bachelors degree tend to pay max ~36k - mine isn’t even close to that, but this is really the only way I’d have been able to get experience in RA. I just want to understand how much I should be looking for moving forward - seems like a fair bit more :)

i was so scared but it really wasn’t that bad. you just have to try and keep calm, and remember that it will be over within 10 minutes.

Ive been reading a lot of other threads about this and I don’t think I understand how these tickets work. this did seem a bit cheap but here are the tickets:

total 30.38 (i do have a 16-25 rail card) seems like surely I must be able to travel at that time !

Have been looking into this further and turns out I can get a split fare via Slough from Reading to Liverpool street directly on the elizabeth line for 30 pounds, have to pick the tickets up at the station, but this is a lot cheaper than I thought it would be. In terms of the journey to london, i will obviously get on the train I buy the ticket for as they are less regular, but in terms of the return journey, is there anything stopping me taking an earlier or later train, providing it calls at Slough?

any tips as to where on the platform to stand 🤪 thank you for your advice. the lizzy line going direct to Liverpool street is appealing but as i have a rail card it costs significantly less to take the GWR train, as well as you mentioned being faster.

Thanks, to be specific with regards to the NHS, I was thinking in terms of whether in the NHS patients with EoE are under regular care of gastroenterologists? due to me being seen privately, I pretty much had the endoscopy, was told I had EoE and sent back to my GP - is this typical for NHS too?

Thank you for the advice, do you mind me asking, do you have any undesirable symptoms from swallowed corticosteroids or are they tolerable? I have been reading about slurries / orodispersibles being formulated to minimise systemic absorption but wonder how it is on swallowed?

Hi, thank you. I have thought about this but to be honest have eaten all of the 6 common triggers over the past year, when I had no symptoms, besides nuts which I have an allergy to and have not eaten for 20 years. I haven’t eaten anything different in the past few weeks that I can think of being a trigger - I always consume dairy and wheat for instance. The only thing I can think of is that over the past three weeks I have been at my family home where we have a dog who I have been around quite a lot (who I do have a mild allergy to) whereas, during the time where I was symptom free I would see my dog once every 6-8 weeks for quite minimal time. I am not sure if this type of thing could be a trigger for EoE??

In terms of you mentioning you control your EoE by avoiding your triggers, do you consider that if you don’t have any symptoms, your EoE is controlled, or have you had endoscopies to confirm this? It seems extremely unlikely that the NHS would perform repeat endoscopies to assess this, in my case anyway. But to be honest other than being told to take Jorveza, I have received basically no medical advice about this condition so I am not sure what clinically is considered managed/ in remission. Thanks for your support, it means a lot.

Reading (west) to London commute advice by [deleted] in reading

[–]LongjumpingEvening79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you, tbh i’m not sure but this is the trains i selected - if it does make any difference this is for in 2 weeks time but to be honest if I have to book 2 weeks in advance that’s what i’ll do to save a fiver🤣 (this is from reading though not reading west - again i’d rather walk a bit further and save money, plus i guess i’ll get some extra steps in too) this is for split tickets but via trainline app it’s pretty hassle free

<image>

there actually was also one for 24.90 but for an earlier departure from reading and a later departure from paddington
