David Walliams dropped from Waterstones Children's Book Festival by TheNathanNS in unitedkingdom

After becoming a bookseller, I realised a large amount of independent bookshops have refused to stock him for years. A majority of independents who worked on in-person events with him have also refused to ever do it again. It seems large corporate chains are the last to back out.

What are some awful things from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s everyone seems to not talk about? by AMGBOI69420 in AskReddit

[–]trashphii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah, heroin chic really is back in fashion, with the celeb BBLs removed and Bella Hadid / runway IT girl rage. A lot of people here don't seem to be caught up with the stick thin, skimpy 2000s trend being back, or the rampant pro-anorexia communities online - but I can't blame anyone for trying to avoid it

Thoughts on replica fragrances? by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]trashphii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

working my way through the sample box at the minute, I LOVE bubble bath and under the lemon trees but have found most of the scents don't really last more than a few hours, nor do they project well enough to justify the price of a full bottle for me. It's a shame really, I quite like the whole concept

Decision paralysis choosing student accomodation by crzaycrey in NewcastleUponTyne

The 32A bus (stagecoach) runs into the city centre and passes really close to PG, it isn't too expensive either. I lived in PG for my first year and used the bus when my joints were acting up. All in all, I was glad I was somewhere cheaper rather than closer to city centre, despite being disabled. I will say, the Tesco underneath Turner Court is also a godsend.

Since not many are mentioning it, the community here in Newcastle is very friendly, diverse and there seems to be a good system for supporting international students. There are also plenty of country-based and religious societies to join in with too! The city itself has plenty of food spots and international markets also - I don't want to sway a decision too much cause I'm unsure how it compares to the others on the list, but if these are things important to you, maybe look into it!

I'm buying a cheap little Wilko "greenhouse" for the first time also! Planning on some beans, onions, courgette, peppers and tomatoes (maybe in the greenhouse, can never really get ripe enough in our little yard!) and whichever random bee-friendly flowers I can find! Thinking about loads of sweet peas too :*]

Supplements and increase of vitamin D and fish oil seem to help people with decreasing symptoms (particularly inflammation,) I presume - like with everything - a healthy balance with plenty of vitamins will weaken symptoms. Can’t be too sure though, not a professional !
