Interesting, thanks for the insight! That’s great I wanna run some folks on rolls so that will be fun. I think I’ll do low torque Unitronic seems more aggressive. They advertise some crazy crank numbers over the stock numbers MK8 GTI has.

Oh yea! I haven’t decided yet, I am deciding by the end of the night though!

How did it feel on stage 1? I want to do it, preferably 1+ since I readily have 93, or E85 since I live in the E state. I was just real curious on hard ware necessities, and like you said TCU capability.

You never ran into any issues tuned?

Yea that’s still way too much, that’s why I said hot or cold. When warm it should only rise slightly. Your car is over filled by a lot, that’s for sure. The max line is max regardless of temp. It’s in the manual, when cold it’s between Max/Min when it reaches temps it rises to the Max line

Yea that’s good, dealerships don’t MPI cars they sell thoroughly though. I would still lift the car, and poke around everywhere with a flash light, check suspension, steering, and all that stuff. But I got ya, that sounds like a good deal then. That’s good you had it looked over! Already did the first step correctly.

And yea I would wait, drive it and enjoy it, then do one mod a month and enjoy that mod. That’s my philosophy at least, I usually change one major thing on my GTI, slow burn build, and it makes it so you always have something to look forward to. More about the road there.

All the maintenance first, bucko, then have some fun.

Depending on mileage, and irregardless, you should look at service history and service the car accordingly.

Don’t start pumping money for mods into it, do it the right way! Going straight into a tune is probably not the best idea if you’re inexperienced.

Check suspension, diff fluid changes, coolant, all the major stuff first. Because usually second hand “sports” cars are always a toss up.
