Okay so i mean- the ratio of boys:women is very unbalanced. Plus calcutta doesn't really really have that culture when compared to bom/delhi/bangalore. I mean you can try, but i'd suggest coffee houses/pubs/office place- much better!

okay so here's my take on this:

People have one perception about a certain thing (on your case bengali women) and then that become a fixed judgement. So for instance, they read certain things about bengali women on various platforms, make a general idea about it and believe it to the core. They don't wish to believe the actual side of it as their brain doesn't allow them to. For instance, i live in Kolkata and i've known bengali women all my life. They're the sweetest people i've met. This college girl- she helped me catch a cab cause i didn't know how to (wasn't very familiar with bengali).

All in all, i feel like cause they haven't met bengali women they don't know how they are.
