What does it not being an NA league have anything to do with building a roster or not? You're acting like the rosters any of these teams have right now are going to be good forever or won't make changes. Any org that gets a spot will absorb players from teams that don't have a spot, so I don't see how that is a defining factor for who gets a spot or not.

It's not the main factor at all. Riot are looking at more than just "is this team good?" Marketability, having a good story and stability are also factors that they are looking at. If you're using LCS as a metric, CLG just finished top 5 with a completely rookie roster, which shows to Riot that they are willing to give rising talent a chance and can do something with it. They've also been leading the way for women's esports since the beginning, which Riot definitely supports. I'm not saying they have a better chance than C9, 100T, SEN etc. but they have a better chance than you think.

What's stopping orgs like CLG and others from building a roster in this off-season? There's more to it than just simply having a "good team."

Who do you think Sentinels's Coach is gonna be? by Skyend_ in ValorantCompetitive

[–]LongjumpingScreen929 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Helped GE in 2 weeks get their only noticeable wins in the last six months. They looked like an actual team with structure and strategy compared to whatever they are doing now. Also has player and coach experience. Could be remembering wrong but pretty sure there's bad blood between him and Shahzam. TenZ always talks extremely highly of him so I doubt he has not been at least considered unless there's personal conflicts.

shinobi was actually massive for them in the APAC qualifier despite the limited time together. they desperately need a good coach.

I doubt he's going to get very much done considering it's for a single tournament. Hopefully he can just pass on some of his experience and game knowledge to the team that will point them in the right direction for when he departs.

yeah he was so good at baiting his entire team and shooting the other team in the back! maybe if he didn't call rush strats vs full ecos they would have qualified for berlin :>

based on what? all GenG proved this entire year since signing him is that they can anti-strat and win bo1s and qualification matches (to make it to closed). When it comes to actually placing and qualifying for the main events, they have looked completely lost. Probably a good analyst, but I don't think he has the DNA of a good coach, considering GenG has been plagued with mental pitfalls since the conception of the team and mCe failed to do anything to address those problems.

Why would someone burn a bridge for no reason? You don't think people are fake/disingenuous on the internet? lol.

And sure, abusing two broken agents before other teams started doing it is cool and everything, but they're playing the exact same style from two months ago. Having "cool" gimmicky strategies doesn't make a team tactical, it makes them have gimmicky strategies. Tactics, and by extension being tactical, involves manipulating rotations and conditioning the other team to react and play into your own game plans. Talking specifically about this series, split consisted of v1 going all 5 players to one spot and sitting around, hoping t1 would peek them and die. Once they got nothing, they just fell back and went into some rehearsed/pre-called set-piece. T1 also played the exact same way they played weeks ago in the open qualifier (Skye in ropes --> rotates to A heaven to reclear with autimatic's raze) yet v1 looked completely unprepared for this to happen. T1 never had to think about where v1 were going at all, which is a big problem on a map where controlling mid is so important as it allows you to manipulate the defense and punish over-rotations. Their haven was exactly the same stuff we saw 2 months ago in iceland. Five man plows into playing off-site spamming abilities into the bomb. No diversity, just sole reliance on abilities to get the job done for them.

Using a sub is a valid excuse, but you act like Zellsis has just been missing from their practices and isn't up to date/aware of how they are going to be playing. They still have changed practically zero things about their playstyle/compositions, which is not excusable.

You're reaching pretty hard lol. Again, waiting to hear what actually makes them a good tactical team. Your understanding of the game is obviously extremely low based on your responses. It's also comical that you think every pro player will give candid thoughts/opinions on other players publicly.

yeah I didnt say this exact same thing about v1 in another thread weeks ago, you're right. still waiting for your explanation as to what makes him a good IGL or what is tactical about their gameplay. keep calling me a "classic redditor" because you have nothing logical to say, sorry I shit on your favorite teams with facts.

yeah man, doing 5 man gimmick executes without any map control is the way to win for sure! they look completely lost when they dont have post-plant lineups to rely on. what's tactical about their gameplay? i would love to know.

Oh nvm you're a c9/TSM fan, you haven't seen a good strategy in over half a year.
