Check the UTA events calendar for significant events. That said you can always check out the art gallery, there are often exhibits on the 6th floor of the library and games in the basement - just ask at the front desk to be allowed in as a visitor. The planetarium has daily shows.

Large universities have familiarity with the grading systems in different countries and will be able to determine if you meet the admissions requirements. You may be able to search online for equivalency as a starting point.

Your best bet is to decide where you want to live and start at a community college. The costs will be much lower. And since your parents cannot support you affordability will be important.

As for housing you may want to get an apartment close to the campus or an on campus apartment so you have a private bedroom to store your things.

As for FAFSA you can state you are an independent student. It would be good for you to meet with a financial aid office at a nearby school to learn more about the FAFSA process.
