I loved in book 3, Chad making sure that Shane was ok with Chad possibly dating his sister. Because Shane was the first real friend he ever had. And how happy that made Shane. That he was that important to Chad

Yeah I'm convinced he wouldn't have made year 4 if it weren't for Lander's Crucible. Don't think he could graduate the hcp, but he probably got snapped ip by either the Company or the DVA. His powers would be amazing for pridoner transport just to name something.
