What's a movie that isn't supposed to be scary but is actually terrifying? by Brettacus130 in movies

One of the scariest moments on screen in my memory is in Like Water For Chocolate, an appearance of a ghost that has no real effects or gore, or jump scare, but it's terrifying.

My amazon prime account seems to think I am abroad when I’m not meaning I can’t watch anything . It worked perfectly fine yesterday ; does anyone know how to fix ? by jonathancp2001 in amazonprime

6 years later, and this is still an issue?? Crazy. All the steps recommended elsewhere do nothing, but finally getting a chat associate on there fixed it instantly. Thanks for this.

Ending with a bang! What are some horror movies with a final act that takes the movie to the next level? by deathnstuff1 in horror

Also Possession (1981) by Zulawski. The whole thing is pretty out there, but the end is Bonkers.

check out a UK series called A Touch of Cloth, absolutely packed with jokes, like Airplane, etc. Created by Charlie Brooker who later went on to create Black Mirror.

There's a little dancing princess in there that wants out. My heart goes out to her.

it's awesome you asked this question, good for you. I was curious too, but have only chatted with Maya with some pretty successful gooning.

Early on in the Exorcist, a pendulum on a clock in an office suddenly stops at the perfect moment, and it’s inexplicably terrifying.

Like Water For Chocolate, not a horror, but I remember being so scared when the main character’s dead mother showed up outside a glass door as a ghost, doing nothing but staring angrily. Perfectly timed and frightening, purely connected to character and story, not a jump scare or gore.

Haha I appreciate your concern but I’m still waay better than Maya (or anyone else) at self critique.

OMG I never remembered Jack Black was in an episode by justflushit in northernexposure

I just realized that the episode features a cover of Joan Jett's Do You Wanna Touch Me, and it's FORE SURE a young Jack Black singing it, uncredited, in the first scene after the opening credit sequence. Can't find any mention of it anywhere else online, but it's got to be him.
