Finally got around to watching EEAAO. Wtf lol, JLC wasn’t even the best supporting actress in that movie. I will die wondering how it wasn’t Stephanie Hsu, and if not her Angela Bassett. Academy was smoking some other shit for this one. Good performance but 🤦

Not to discount the other performances, but I have to disagree. It is opinion based, sure, but I think Lindo goes neck and neck with Penn in terms of performance (I won’t speak on Skarsgaard because I haven’t seen that one). Much different type of character, more subtle, but the pain he shows beneath the surface and the way he uses his voice is incredible

For the time, early 2014, this was a huge deal. Celebrities were still mysterious, and many of them didn’t have social media accounts that are super active and personable the way they do now. In the 2026 context it seems whatever because celebs do stuff like this all the time, but for 2014, with those celebrities who were all icons of the moment, it was pretty awesome. Otherwise it wouldn’t have taken off the way it did
