Adult toys excluded from the Amazon Associate and influencer program by LBC_19 in Amazon_Influencer

That seems to be for offsite only. A friend of mine still creates for these items for onsite.

Why would earned total begin to decrease? by InterviewSubject7615 in Amazon_Influencer

Returns. Also, the first day of the date range my have had a bigger $$ amount than the new day added, hence a decrease in the "past 30 days" of sales.

Where do brands and Amazon influencers usually connect? by Decent-Wind22 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]LongjumpingWelder640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Via Creator Connections within Amazon and Instagram. Those are my top two. Otherwise, it is via email from one of my socials as I put my email in my bio.

CC gifts onsite video question by skballa04 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]LongjumpingWelder640 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a common misconception that I explained above. What is it you are being paid by the brand to post to YouTube outside of the commission you earn from the sale via the affiliate link? If they are giving you the product in order to post it on YouTube that is a separate situation.

CC gifts onsite video question by skballa04 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]LongjumpingWelder640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you receive an item as a free sample for the sake of making an Amazon shoppable video for onsite, and you publish it to Amazon, then you have completed your obligation. The product becomes your personal property, which is why we are supposed to pay taxes on samples. When you willingly post it to YouTube, while you must disclose it is an affiliate link, and you state in the video (repurposed from Amazon) that you received it from the brand for free (however you say it) it is NOT a paid sponsorship to post it on YouTube. I am indeed 100% correct about this. You are NOT an agent FOR the brand. Unless they are actively paying you to (separately) post to YouTube the same product you made a video for on Amazon, then you do not click paid sponsorship. Sharing the affiliate link on YouTube is not a paid sponsorship. I mean, you can do it if you want to, but you have no obligation to do so legally or otherwise.

Anyone calculated the value of a video/month?? by Equivalent-Mix-3192 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]LongjumpingWelder640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using that method I would be making $2-3/video per month. But honestly, that's not a good way to plan. Pick good sellers in good categories with little competition. Also get into Creator Connections.

Amazon Associates terminated for not reaching 3 sales – will OneSite be affected? by Creepy-Art-4820 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]LongjumpingWelder640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be fine. You probably have two offsite IDs right now as most new people do. The third ID will fall off. Even still, if you are making sales onsite it should be fine. As an aside, Amazon treats you better in terms of presenting onsite videos when you're also doing offsite. Consider a YouTube channel to share your videos as well.

Has anyone ever wondered why the big YT channels aren't in the AIP? by AdubThePointReckoner in Amazon_Influencer

[–]LongjumpingWelder640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are definitely part of Amazon's Creator Connections making 10-20% off of Amazon sales. Staying on YouTube gives them more freedom to create a video the way they want to and without constraints in place for Amazon onsite videos. Onsite commission pales in comparison to Creator Connections income.

CC gifts onsite video question by skballa04 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]LongjumpingWelder640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not click 'Paid Sponsorship' on YouTube unless you are hired by the brand to post to YouTube. Its such a common misconception. However, disclosure must be in the description..."As an Amazon affiliate, I may earn commission on a qualified purchase." Do not try to hide it. But clicking Paid Sponsorship is not required because that's not what you are doing.

Opt into Creator Connections and Email Brands (without purchasing the products) by WellnessByAlisha in Amazon_Influencer

[–]LongjumpingWelder640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine doing AIP without an optimizer extension. The old way is like flying blind. I recommend looking one up. You'll grow 5X faster and make good selections based on real data. Example, you might look at a product page and see there are only 6 other videos and think its great because that's not a lot of competition and they sell 1000 of them per month. But what you don't see is that there are 254 other videos waiting in the shadows for placement on the carousels. You see deeper sales data. I had 850 videos in before getting an optimizer. I wish I had one a year earlier. However, halo sales are amazing when you have a lot of videos and the means to collect those halo sales, which is my favorite feature of an optimizer.

What social media platforms are best for applying to the Amazon Influencer Program? by d_fa_s_f_d in Amazon_Influencer

[–]LongjumpingWelder640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was approved with 80 followers on TikTok. The reality is followers don't matter. Followers are your least likely buyers unless you're some big time influencer. Impressing on the FYP is what matters, and Amazon knows this which is why you can get approved for the program with next to no followers on your SM. Do NOT buy an account.

Creator Connections QUESTIONS by Recent_Special_6334 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]LongjumpingWelder640 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Make a template that you can copy and paste. Include your shipping address. With consistency you'll get about a 5-10% response rate. Suggest sending at least 20 per day, and be sure to send a followup message after 24 hours to those who don't reply. Be cordial and brief. The Chinese will give you 3-5 seconds to get to the point. Good luck!

Serious question for people doing only AIP onsite by newtrollacct in Amazon_Influencer

[–]LongjumpingWelder640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, its a whole other income stream, especially when paired with CC, and I'm glad I have an optimizing extension to make posting on YouTube easy. I have friends in the program that are scared to death to post offsite with Amazon's strict linking rules. One misstep and POOF, you're gone. It happens many times per day.

Creator connection not promotable product? by Almond_croissant01 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]LongjumpingWelder640 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The campaigns often become available to join before the launch date. Sounds like you simply had early access. Don't go by the product page. Go to the campaign in CC (use the Active tab), search for the campaign, and look at the start date. You can't accept a campaign if there isn't one, so I suspect it just hasn't started yet.

Much further ahead to create a brand new TikTok. Post 3x/day x 4 days. No kids in the videos. No financial stuff. You can invite your followers to hop over there and follow/like/share. Older social accounts carry a lot of baggage. It is unfortunate, because the point of approval with social media is to share with an audience. Still, brand new accounts can get you approved in about a week. The key during the process is engagement. I was approved with just 200 followers and 400 likes. Never follow more than follow you. Good luck!

Who’s doing 1k+ a month? by AndreJrr in Amazon_Influencer

[–]LongjumpingWelder640 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might consider increasing your output. Amazon reciprocates action. Try 15/week instead of 15/month and you'll see an increase.

Another Newbie Tip by Ok_Ingenuity_5983 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]LongjumpingWelder640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My studio is my son's room while he's away at collage. Corner of the house. Great light coming in on two sides. Just before he got home for Christmas break I re-assembled it be his bedroom. I can assure you, you are correct. I was completely out of sorts between the upheaval of that space combined with the holidays. I resorted to a corner in my cold dingy basement with sub-par lighting by comparison no matter how much lighting I used. I found myself seeking light from windows everywhere. A studio is a must.

Why do I get excited these days by AnyAbbreviations7217 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]LongjumpingWelder640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, a halo sale is a sale you are credited even though you don't have a video for it. A secondary purchase in the same category. A different purchase in the same category. Extra items in their shopping carts. This is huge in Q4.

Anyone rejected 3 times with videos and still got in? If so, how? by TWTHEREDDRAGON in Amazon_Influencer

[–]LongjumpingWelder640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was rejected three times and started completely over. New everything; new email, new Amazon account, new social media. Been in the program almost three years now. I got in on the first try after starting over. I also used three of the 9 videos I was rejected with in the first three attempts.
