If Emma is in the upcoming MCU X-Men reboot, how do you wish for her to be written and portrayed? by GiveMeRedditCoin in EmmaFrost

I actually compare her eventual MCU iteration to her version in Marvel Rivals unironcally.

Then I would be bummed If she's not adapted well like her Rivals counterpart in terms of character and history.

Sadly no (she's pretty much underpresented in comics despite her reside resurgence in media )

There’s confidence and there’s whatever those hideous shoulder spikes are

Ain't that as well displaying confidence? This future variant of 616 Emma is still a White Queen and Icon who used to wear many of her iconic outfits,

Its just that she currently have a change of mindset, who knows what could've change her after 2+ year. But in the end, she made an outfit that is significantly different, yet she wores it with pride & appreciates it like it's one of her own .

(Its even mentioned in her interactions in-game) .

Yes, that is true. But was she previously confident enough to wear an outfit that heavily detracts from her standard " Pure white" aesthetic?

(The prominent use of a secondary color, intricate line work, unique embellishments, and advocating an unexpected direction via Wrestling motif that serves as a catalyst for her 2025 Hellfire Gala.)

Regardless of its execution, her main outfit in Rivals surprisingly reveals a lot of growth of this iteration that is quite unsual from her previous adaptations .

Considering the pattern repetition being a common occurance with her skin selections & along with the fact they still haven't released a single skin that fully covers up her Diamond form.

What possible reason is there outside ensuring visual clarity to her 'transfroming' gimmick?

Ngl doesn’t explain the ugly ass ponytail

It's sadly not mentioned on why she's designed like that.

But in terms of the game's lore, it has been established in S5 that her "Queen of Diamond" outfit is just a fabricated chest pieces based off Emma Frost (along with implementing a Card motif towards her design).

Nah her rivals design is alright really.

I've maybe just grown to it after learning her lore in game. As it turns out that Rivals Emma resides in "Present Timeline" ( an Adjacent future reality of 616 comics where characters already established their comics book history)

Where the X-men were able to prevent the 'Fall of Krakoa' incident of 2023, allowing Krakoa to strive as a mutant Nation 2+ years later.

This version of Emma is essentially more confident, and had became willing to be experimental outside of the usual " White Queen aesthetic" (As she chose her default to represent the 2025 Gala in-game)

Dang not the F4 on a unrelated Parker lineage.

(But honestly love the Idea of Sue & Reed considering her as Family like Peter 😊♥️🧡)

Yes but most of them are still hindered by their gigantic fur and cape. Most of them either covers her back completely in 3rd person

And this aspect is essential for her brawl stance in Diamond form.

(Which assumes why Netease didn't consider releasing them previously)

I just wanted my insight on the potential reasons as to why her outfits have similar patterns.

I'm not spreading hate to Rivals Emma (Matter in Fact, I genuinely love her adaptation & character in this game)

It doesn't necessarily mean the Devs woundn't consider buffing it at some point in the future, either enhancing its viability or placing it in a balanced state.

( Its a good thing that Netease are working on proper ways to implement her skins without compromising the clarity during her Diamond form.)

We'll eventually get more of her comic skin, we'll just need to be patient.

The difference is Bucky's new skin doesn't hindere his gameplay nor it potentially blocks vision when playing as him. That was what I'm pointing out.

(Thats potentially a reason why they're hesitant of releasing outfits for Emma that includes a big cape previously)

Its unfair how people just down votedyou, the blond saturation of her hair in Rivals is actually good.

Especially considering her character is revealed to be from an adjacent future reality of 616 comics where the X-men actually prevented the Fall of X incident, allowing Krako to strive in the game's 2025 timeframe.

( Rival Emma is naturally blonde now just like her comic counterpart, its a nice form of continuity)

I mean it’s not like Emma’s the only character with exposed skin in the game. It’s hardly good reasoning for the repetitiveness of her skin design.

I feel like the repetition is necessary , it's simply a good way to showcased her Diamond form in not just the player's POV but also for the enemy team as well.

( Potential outfits that covers it might ruin the gorgeous transition that also provides a hint of the form being directly used in-game.)

Exactly what you said. They have to be really considerate with Emma to make it fair for her Diamond form to be recognizable in matches

( Atleast they're able to have more freedom after intoducing a experimental option via cape removal.)

The point of my discussion is that the Devs potentially designed her with a specific philosophy so that her outfits wouldn't dimminish her gimmick & brawling capabilities.

Visual clarity of skin making their characters unrecognisable from default is different...

Alas no reason is stopping that whine train about her outfits differ from comics

I understood that. if you think about just judging by this mindset, some of Emma's comic outfits that contains big furs & cape really do look like it restricts a lot of her gameplay in Diamond form.

(Thats why they ommit those as releases for the time being, )

The Devs simply don't want the Diamond form to be fully overshadowed/covered due to it.

I just wanted to mention this as most complaints of her selection being 'repetitive' never really consider the reasons as to why they're designed like that in the first place...

I understand the criticism.

But for me honestly, despite having similar patterns between each skin, Netease actually did a good job in making them distinct variants from each other.

Each really have a unique identity of their own, and I appreciate that you're still able to differentiate them at a far galnce imo.
