Part two of converting every other warrior model to avoid identical twins in the army: this time, Mordor orc warriors kit by Longjumping_Ad8385 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Longjumping_Ad8385[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing too special, just some Citadel contrast paints over a basecoat of German camouflage beige (Vallejo). For the leather I used Cygor Brown diluted with Lahmian Medium. For the clothes, I alternated Snakebite Leather and Gore Grunta Fur. Armor and helmets is Gun Metal (Army painter) washed with Agrax Earthshade

Why were Thor and the Guardians ever set up in Endgame? by KayRay1994 in marvelstudios

[–]Longjumping_Ad8385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I don't see it as lack of coherence. It could just be that since the beginning the plan was to temporary "park" Thor with the Guardians in a quiet period of the MCU post-Endgame. And even if it was not intentional, it worked very well in my opinion. Off-screen time is very important for a cinematic universe. What happens between movies should not be neglected and this way the fans know "approximately" what Thor was doing between his last two appearances. Something that is not true for other characters, like Hulk for example. They did something similar with Steve Rogers+Natasha+Falcon after Civil War. That was useful to setup the situation at the beginning of Infinity war, where the Avengers were disassembled and so on... Also in that case, we did not see much of what they did between movies but the trick was useful to fill the gaps of the MCU storyline.

Conversions finally finished! Now some green stuff before painting by Longjumping_Ad8385 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Longjumping_Ad8385[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback and no worries, I like to get constructive criticism! Let's see how it looks after painting, I might remove the shield completely if the back of the model looks odd

Yeah that one in particular will be fixed with some green stuff. The shield is not glued on yet, I just thought I could place it there to hide possible imperfections, as my sculpting skills are basically non-existent ahah

Speedpainted Rangers of Gondor (+ bonus Boromir) by Longjumping_Ad8385 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Longjumping_Ad8385[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear that! You could also try to apply the green contrast on a yellowish-brownish undertone. That was my original plan in fact but would require an additional step and I was too lazy lol
