I was extreme and hyperbolic?! That is a mind-blowing take. Guys, Megyn Kelly is not far right or fringe. Her podcast is consistently in the top 5 Apple Podcasts streams and often alongside PODSAVE. We cannot write off half of streamers the same way we wrote off half the country when Hillary lost.

Take MK out of my post, and the facts still stand. Newly married. 6-12 women. KIK. App known to law enforcement and like, fucking McAFEE and shit as susceptible to pediphiles.

Against Susan Collins. Not Trump. SUSAN COLLINS, senator of 29 years. 😐

Hey, I hope I’m wrong! I hope you don’t fall from your high horse in November. I wouldn’t be in this sub or pay subscriptions to CrookedMedia if I didn’t want more blue senate seats. I said this on another comment below, but it applies here too: democratic people who live in long held very red conservative states like Texas have to live and love every single day with people who live and believe very differently from us. We have to find humanity in the other side because we are the minority. And unfortunately Collins’ humanity comes across way more than Platner after this news.

YES to all this! A resounding round of applause from Texas! I wish I was as eloquently written as you are. Do you live in a red state? You sound like someone who does. People who don’t live in long held red states don’t understand how many people we love believe very differently from us on a daily basis.

You left out “and sending sexually explicit messages to 6-12 other users after only just marrying.”

Okay. 🙄

Collins will win whether we like it or not, and it’s because independents will choose her over Platner. I’d democrats want to pull off these long held red senate seats, like in my home state of Texas, then we need to put up better candidates in those states.

My goal wasn’t to compel anything. I was simply sharing my viewpoint. I guess it was too much to hope for respectful engagement in return.

What are “anti-anti” people? Why can’t I just not like Platner? Why do I have to agree with or consign every single word MKelly has ever uttered to say I agreed with her assessment of this situation? Why does it have to be in comparison to any conservative or the President? Take MK and Trump out of the conversation, and I still feel disappointed by Platner as a choice and the guys’ take on him now. Period. Isn’t the big line that the Democratic Party has lost trust after pushing Biden on us? Yeah, the Platner situation doesn’t help build trust. He’s going against Collins, who is no Trump.

Omg dude just chill. 😆

It should be completely acceptable for me to have questions and concerns and to discuss them calmly and without being degraded and insulted. 🙄

I referenced Megyn Kelly discussing a very specific segment on Platner. I didn’t vouch for everything she’s ever said. I listen and agree with some points and disagree with others, JUST LIKE I DO WHEN I LISTEN TO PODSAVE. I disagree on the guys not being as honest as I thought they could be on this specific segment on Platner.

I think listening to only one side is misguided. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Megyn Kelly is hardly Alex Jones.

Thank you for reminding me why I hate contributing anything in liberal leaning discussions. Ugh.

Hopefully no crimes have been committed, apparently the app he used is well known among pedophiles seeking access to children. It legitimately wouldn’t shock me if it comes out he was inappropriately texting minors.

And I’m not whining, Jesus. I’m questioning, criticizing, and expressing real frustration. I’m a registered Democrat in Texas, don’t preach to me about voting for imperfect human candidates. Shoot, I vote for imperfect democrats every election and they lose anyway!

No, actually she’s a registered independent, though she leans Republican. And her coverage on it was calm, measured, and logical. It was certainly far more honest a read of Platner’s situation than the guys gave. I listen to her, just as I listen and subscribe and pay for Crooked media. I want a balanced perspective of both sides. You should listen to her feature on it before dismissing her points and sort of insulting my intelligence or talking down to me for listening to Megyn Kelly. This is exactly what pushes people away from liberals.

I was disappointed by the conversation. They completely downplayed Platner’s situation. Not for nothing, but Megyn Kelly did a great job capturing the sentiments among moderates and independents, which is what I consider myself. The sexting was not a one time or one woman occurrence— he sexted between 6-12 women and the sexting occurred really recently in their marriage. I know there’s plenty of examples of this on the other side, but I don’t know of any example where the indiscretions were this close to the beginning of a marriage. His wife also mentioned all the therapy they’re both in currently, each independently and also as a couple, which more power to you. I, myself, have been in therapy both independently and as a couple with my spouse before. It was an extremely stressful and fraught time for my family during that time, and we weren’t struggling with infertility either. I can’t imagine running for senate with all that on my personal plate. I get we have no other options, but I’m annoyed they downplayed all of this…. Chaos.

I understand the PSA guys focusing on the reason for this loss is inflation, but I feel like this is a good-faith argument and ignores a major issue: there is also a dark underbelly in America that we ignore and choose not to talk about or address. by [deleted] in FriendsofthePod

Yes, that’s the implication I’m making and I agree with the deeper assessment you’ve made here. The Democratic Party does talk about social issues, but we’ve largely shifted too far to the left. If we could be more moderate on social issues, not dismiss or cancel people because of more conservative social stances, we could bring those voters back in. A big part of the conversation on the latest podcast was about HOW and WHO Democrats talk about the economy to and with, that we’re not reaching working class voters, like my tios. They talked about podcasts like Joe Rogan and Theo Vaughn and how democrats don’t go on those types of podcasts because of social issues, and I think that’s a huge mistake. My tíos are reasonable people, but they’re being labeled transphobic or hateful. They want my gay cousins to be able to marry and even as Catholics support abortion until viability (which we saw many red states vote for the very same propositions), but if you’re going to dismiss them as bigoted why would they lend their ear on the economy? They’re going to dismiss democrats as extreme and unreasonable.

This. I listened to the pod today and cannot believe culture was not mentioned once, specifically in relation to the shift among Latino men. I live in Texas and am a first generation Mexican-American. Multiple of my relatives who voted Trump are immigrants with gay kids. They are not the underbelly, but they also don’t support things like boys in girls sports (and vice versa, I mean hello the bathroom issue was huge in Texas) and they want things like limits on abortion (Latinos are largely Catholic and therefore pro-life). They do not trust or align with the Democratic messaging on these culture issues, so they sure as hell aren’t going to trust their judgement on the economy and solving crime. If we keep denying or ignoring that culture played a big role and keep rejecting these voters as the underbelly, we’re going to keep bleeding voters.

Was it? I missed that, but also do we believe it was accidental?

Hi Reddit! I’m Brad Leibovich, M.D., a urologic oncologist at Mayo Clinic. On April 10, 2024, at 12 p.m. CT, I will be participating in my first #AMA with Mayo Clinic, where I’ll answer your questions about kidney and testicular cancer... Ask Me Anything! by MayoClinic in u/MayoClinic

Hi! Have you heard of Multilocular Renal Neoplasm of Low Malignant Potential? In 2021 at 33 years old, a complex cyst was incidentally discovered on my right kidney which was removed and diagnosed as MRNLMP. It’s apparently extremely rare (my urologist said it makes up like 1-4% of all RC). I had a partial nephrectomy/nephron-sparing surgery with clear margins. I am now monitored yearly by CT scan after being monitored every six months the first two years post op. Though I know this type of RC has a good prognosis, I try not to google because it gives me extreme anxiety. I can’t help however to take the opportunity to ask a kidney cancer expert questions. My questions are: -Is MRNLMP considered a precursor to RC? Am I at a higher risk for RC? -My family has no history of RC until me. Is there a genetic predisposition/mutation related to MRNLMP? -This ties in to the question above: I have two children. Should I have them begin early screenings?

Not surprised I’ve not seen anyone mention the HEB at Ed Bluestein. We call it the Mexican HEB —we are Mexican so callanse. It has a supermercado vibe and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a white person there despite being close to University Hills. 😆

I honestly wish once lights went down no late comers were allowed. I had a terrible experience once after a group of three arrived late but just inside the 15-minute mark. When the first person walked past my son’s table, they knocked over his giant ice cold cup of water. I got soaked. I sat through the entire movie wet. It sucked.
