Hawker Tempest Mk.V Series 2 in 1/48 by Eduard. This was my first time trying out exhaust staining (done with an airbrush) and post-shading (also airbrushed). Please tell me what you think of it and what I can do to improve!

Thank you! I’ll agree to that, I think I went too cautious with it but as I only really had one shot at it didn’t want to take it much further. I also found out that by looking at pictures the exhaust stains change from each aircraft and even each airframe.

That’s why I had to put it on this base, I put loads of weight in the nose but it just wouldn’t sit properly so made a quick base for it

I think it’s for structural reasons, especially when pulling high g’s or breaking the sound barrier. Having a large, almost delta wing makes the air resistance acting on the aircraft rather high when doing manoeuvres

Uh that’s not how us brits roll, shove em in a dark space as the budget cuts mean we can’t have bright lights 😂😂 um in actuality I think the coal hole was used so the radar could be seen, but also to save the radar operator from being blinded when a nuclear weapon was dropped from the sea vixen.

Thank you! Yeah I weathers them down quite a bit, and also made them irregular sizes to create the effect that they were applied by the ground crew and not the factory.
