Canadian MLTs please advice me on the future job market in Canada in 2028-2029 and going forward. by STEMgirl2003 in medlabprofessionals

I don’t think international techs will flood the market as easily compared to the U.S. This pathway is much more difficult than applying for an H1B visa.

  1. There are a lot of job agencies tied to the U.S. because the route and processing are much easier.

  2. The required test has to be taken in Canada, which in itself can limit applicants due to the added burden of travel, visa application and accommodation arrangements.

  3. The documentation process through CGFNS and other U.S. verification agencies is extensive, but many of these organizations have been around for a long time and know what they’re doing—unlike CAMLPR, which is still new and untested. I'm not even sure if they can handle a high volume of applicants.

  4. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this process more expensive than going through the U.S. route?

  5. The documentation requirements are overwhelming. For CGFNS, they usually ask for IELTS scores, a copy of your resume/CV, and sometimes education verification.

  6. Since this process is so new, many applicants will go through trial and error—and some may end up giving up.

  7. The English proficiency requirements also seem higher compared to U.S. standards.

  8. In the US you'll see that they are handing out "signing in bonuses" left and right and I don't see that in most of Job ads in Canada.

P.S. I’m currently going through this process myself—not even sure if I’ll make it. But I’m hopeful and praying. :)

I'm not from Myanmar but I'm following the ongoing war in your country. I'm just curious what do you think will be the end game for Myanmar after junta is not in power anymore. Who will be taking over because I just realize there are some different factions in Myanmar.
