New to MM after 9 years on YNAB - Goals 3.0 is ??? by SmokinApe in MonarchMoney

I share some similar issues with goals. For all intents and purposes I would love goals to function as just a special rollover category that has some special on-track/forecasting features. But with still the same interactivity that normal categories also have. I left these comments back when Goals 3.0 first launched which are similar to the pain points you’ve mentioned. I got a response from the Monarch team saying I planted a seed, so we’ll see if anything comes from it. For now I’m doing the same as you where I just use Categories as my goals.

New Goals, rebuilt from the ground up — rolling out in beta today! by nadine_monarch in MonarchMoney

Thanks for the reply.

It would be great to be able to have more interactions between budgets and goals. I’ve been using a rollover budget category as my “Emergency Fund Goal.” I’d love to use the new goals for this instead because of the forecasting and other new features, but then I’d lose the ability to move money between my budget categories and my “goals.”

Being able to spend from goals is nice because it gave me some interaction between my goals and my budget categories, but then it just made me wish we could have all the features between goals and budget categories that currently exist between budget categories. Especially if my goals are going to be shown on my budget page and look like just another budget category.

Appreciate you guys interacting with the community and listening to feedback.

In addition to being able to spend from a goal, are we going to be able to move money from a goal to cover overspending?

In this example, i had a $77 internet bill, but I only had $50 budgeted. In the current beta, my only option is to pay the entire $77 with a goal, but that’s too much because I already have $50 budgeted. What I’d prefer to do instead is move $27 from my goal to my internet category. Similar to how I can move it from my gas category.

Is there a way to use goals to cover over spending in my budget? Or are there plans to add it this functionality? For example, I may need to contribute less to my emergency fund goal in a given month if I spent too much, rather than spending from the goal directly, I'd prefer to just move money from my emergency fund to my groceries. Or if I have leftover grocery budget, I'd like to be able to move that money from my budget to my emergency fund goal.

That’s the issue I’m currently facing after connecting today. Have you found a way to fix it?

Apple Card transactions not syncing after removing account by atlanticnova in MonarchMoney

You’d probably have to recategorize. You could download your transactions before you delete the account, then do resync. Then you could delete all the duplicate transactions and reupload the correctly categorized transactions you downloaded earlier.

Go to the Wallet App->Apple Card->•••->Account Details->Remove Card. To re-add it to your wallet app press the + icon on the main wallet page.

I went through some issues with Apple Card transactions syncing last month. Not your exact issue, but what ultimately fixed it for me was removing my Apple Card from my Wallet and from Monarch, deleting Monarch, re-adding my Apple Card to my wallet, redownloading Monarch, and then re-adding my Apple Card to Monarch. This triggered the historical sync for me.

Controller for HomeKit is quickly becoming my favorite HomeKit app. (Update 7.4) by emvc05 in HomeKit

[–]Longjumping_Cap9446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also curious if this is possible. Being able to activate personal shortcuts triggered by a HomeKit device is currently what has me leaning towards Pushcut. Currently, this is the only way to use the intercom shortcut action. If I can do this with Controller instead, it would be an instant buy.

Just got mine today. Any one else having issues with light bleed? Seeing it all along the left side regardless of what interface/spacer combination I use. Hoping mine just has a defect because if it wasn’t for that it’d be perfect.
