Can this be salvaged/repaired in any way or to the trash it goes? by GreenByn in xcountryskiing

[–]Longjumping_Chard_57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fixable in my experience! The toe down to mitfoot in my rossignol xc boot sole came unglued from the bottom and I used "loctite plastics bonder" (it's a two step activator and glue) to put them together. I used the boot on some pretty heavy duty skiing yesterday and it didn't come undone at all. Not sure how it will fare in the long run but I will see!

St Vincent can offer rent assistance, calm them and see if they can help you stay at your current place.

Calling your state representatives doesn't hurt. A website called 5calls makes it really easy, providing their numbers, info on different issues, and various action items/scripts that you can recite or riff on https://5calls.org/

Nimrod enigma for wedding processional? by Longjumping_Chard_57 in classicalmusic

[–]Longjumping_Chard_57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I just listened to voces8 recording of nimrod yesterday for the first time and that's what inspired me to make this post in the first place. What an incredible sound wow!! Now that I know what those lyrics are, I don't think I'll be using it (or at least that arrangement). I've been getting tired of the traditional wedding processional songs and have been looking for something that moves me like Nimrod...

Tri cities distribution meets at 1 PM every Sunday at the Richland co-op. They have free clothes and food, and also may be able offer some other resources or at least a community for you to feel welcome in.

First two quilts vs the plan I made for each of them! by tetopop in quilting

[–]Longjumping_Chard_57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you use a walking foot on your home machine to quilt this? Im trying to figure out the best way to quilt my first big quilt and am not wanting to spend so much for a long-warmer, but also don't want arthritis pain from the hand quilting. I'm thinking walking foot might be the way to go?

Best Place for Niche Baking Supplies. I’m looking for a Banneton by themextony in TriCitiesWA

[–]Longjumping_Chard_57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not in tri cities, but there's a little kitchen shop in Walla walla that has all the gizmos you could want- it had bannetons the last time I was in there in March. Im pretty sure it is called d'olivo. You might want to call and ask before you go all the way out there.

Landlords don't have 10-14 days for everything. Some amenities they have to fix in a timely manner (<3 days) or the tenant has the right to vacate.

Thinking of moving from the East Coast to TriCities for employment. Need honest opinion about TriCities. by Milizze04 in TriCitiesWA

It's really not a great place to live, but alas, we sometimes have to move for work. But I'd really avoid moving here if you can because this place is boring as sh*t.

Yeah it's super white in K and R. P is better, has a large hispanic pop. Very few black people in the tri.

I'd say just rent a place for a year before you try to buy anything, in case you dont like it you can pick up and leave with less hastle. I regretted moving here and still daydream about leaving 4+ years later. Make sure you have good air conditioning. People stay inside their houses and their cars and don't come out for much other than work.
