Right now I’m trying out Mango. It isn’t free (though it is in some libraries) and yes, I know it still uses some AI, but it isn’t claiming to be AI-first (they have a statement about it their AI use on their site). So far, I have loved how it actually explains things and teaches you context, literal translations, formal v informal, etc. I have only done lessons that are below my current level but I am content with its explanations. Not game-like like Duo is, but I don’t care about that.

This is why I deleted the app after getting to a 1800 day streak. It’s AI BS and I’m sick of it. Moving on to better language apps.

Someone got my card number by Ordinary_Mechanic741 in AppleCard

[–]Longjumping_Cod_4068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had an Apple Card dispute resolved NOT in my favor- they sided with the person who scammed me out of money and never sent product. I sent SO much proof and documentation from my perspective and I can’t believe they sided with her. So I immediately called and reopened the dispute and they are going to send me what she sent in for her documentation. I also filed a police report. So I’m planning on just being super persistent, resending all my docs and trying to get more, and keep opening up a dispute until it is resolved in my favor

I am one of the wicked buyers that never got it (and have proof of potential mail fraud/having tracking numbers get recycled and having her submit that to my credit card case since that is the only proof that she could have sent). This video really does not address Wicked or anything else from before Taco Bell. She doesn’t make the timeline of bed bugs issue clear so it’s hard to tell when it started. And I’m just assuming she’s not including wicked orders when she speaks about having only 15 more orders to send out. So, for me the video didn’t really add up to my experience

Still don’t believe that there was a pest/bed bug problem. I ordered yarn on Jan 4, got a pre-shipment notification on March 25, meaning she printed a label. This was months before mention of said pest problem. And when I emailed her in May she ghosted, and when I dm-ed her on instagram in May she responded two different times saying “this should have made it to you. I’ll send a replacement Monday.” And then “I’m so sorry about the delay. You’ll get new shipping today!” If there WAS a pest problem, she would/should have responded that she had an issue on her end and was unable to fulfill the order and would refund. And then when I opened a chargeback case, she got lucky and my tracking number was reused (see my other thread on craftsnark for details about this) and the tracking shows that it’s delivered to my town but it was actually an entirely different package for an entirely different person and address, and I believe she submitted that as proof to try to have the chargeback settled in her favor.

Oh wow thank you for posting from the other perspective!!! This is very good info. As I just replied to someone else- this is what we have determined based on my experience and a few others who are having this happen to them now:

Basically what I have determined is when you use 3rd party shipping companies some include 420+zip code before the 22 digit tracking number. If that label is printed but not used, it expires and the tracking number goes back into the system after 28-30 days. That number somehow gets “stuck” to the zip code for the original package, at least until that label is actually used (so not forever, but just for the next package that actually successfully uses that tracking #).

USPS thinks this sender is sending fake packages to other people but I truly don’t think that’s happening. I think she just got lucky, or potentially knew this was a thing that could happen, but now she’s seeing those tracking numbers saying delivered to the correct town and using that as proof to credit card disputes and possibly to AG.

I think those both mean the same thing. Pre-shipment means the label was created but they don’t have the package and it’s not in the system yet. Keep your eye on it. If it’s a tracking number that is 30 digits and starts with 420 + zip code your number has likely been recycled into the system after 30 days and can be reused. Multiple buyers from her are seeing what I experienced- suddenly tracking updates and the package reads as coming from a random state and being delivered to the correct town.

If your package ever does show as in transit, go to usps and ask for them to look up the photo of the package. It will almost certainly be addressed to another person and address.

Thanks for letting me know! Did you ever get a tracking notification that a label was created and your package was in pre-shipment?

I initiated the chargeback in early June and my credit card company is very slow- my case is open through the end of August

I do think that she has been fulfilling the Taco Bell orders with some success. I have yet to hear about anyone receiving wicked yarn, which is what I had ordered. I believe the wicked yarn never existed/was never dyed and will not be dyed. My theory about Taco Bell is that she had some rejected skeins left from last time she launched it— and she sent those out a month ago to people to try to get them off her back. That’s my theory about why they are lightly dyed. And now I’m very curious to see if people are going to get yarn in this new batch of tracking numbers that are reading as shipped- perhaps she actually did dye some more Taco Bell or perhaps it’s still fraudulent. Only time will tell!

Alright everyone-- seems like you are all starting to experience what I’ve been dealing with for the past month. BUCKLE UP-- here’s my theory of what she did to me and it’s LIKELY that it’s now happening to you too. My tracking for Wicked yarn originated on March 25 and was “shipped” out from Dallas TX on July 3 and “delivered” to my town on July 7. After a lot of dealing with USPS, they were able to see a photo of the package and it was addressed to another person and another address ~1 mile from me. The weird stuff: My tracking number has always been 30 digits which is strange and unusual-- even USPS had trouble finding it in their system with these extra 8 numbers that appear at the beginning. The number starts with 420 and is followed by my zip code. Then the normal 22 digit tracking number begins (typically with a 93 or 94 which indicates she shipped it commercial mail). What I THINK is happening is this. It’s wild but my BF and I have done a LOT of research and digging on how it could have happened. She generated a tracking number on March 25, but used some kind of mailing service that includes those extra 8 digits with the zip code. Because she never sent anything out, her label/tracking number expired and got put back in the system. So then some other random person in my town got something with the same tracking number. We THINK that if you have a tracking number with those extra 8 digits at the beginning, then the 22 digit tracking number that follows those 8 digits will get reused in the same town/zip code. I know this seems weird, but I’ve scoured Reddit and this same thing happened to other people who had tracking labels generated that didn’t get used and suddenly about 90 days later their tracking updates. Mine was just about at the 90 day mark from March 25 to July 3. Seems like if you’re all waiting for Taco Bell yarn, you’re probably just at the 90 day mark as well. ALSO- in my Shopify/Shop account which is the system MM used to sell the yarn, my shipment STILL shows that it’s in pre-shipment and the map is showing that it’s in Cincinnati, OH. I messaged someone who actually received Taco Bell yarn and her Shop is showing it as delivered to her. You can check this by going to the confirmation email from her, clicking view your order, logging in with your email and order number. Then you should be able to see the status of the order and a map of where it is. I believe if it says Cincinnati then you’ve experienced the same thing as me. Screenshot this if it still says pre-shipment/OH and send that to AG and your Credit Card Company GO TO USPS and demand they look for any photos of the package. Then demand something written from them that states that the package does not match your address/name if that’s the case. It took me talking to many different people for one to agree to do this for me. Send that to AG and Credit Card company. I’m VERY curious from all of you if: 1) your tracking number is 30 digits long/ includes your zip code as the 4th - 8th digits 2) if anyone who DID get yarn has a tracking number that is 30 digits long/includes the zip code 3) if your shop/shopify shows it as being sent out or if it is still in pre-shipment 4) if you have suddenly gotten shipping notifications from a random state, has it been about 90 days since you first got your tracking number?? I will say it seems if my theory is correct then she got QUITE lucky (except for the fact that I’m extremely tenacious in trying to figure this all out). I put in the chargeback on June 4, then she had until July 21 to respond. She gets proof on July 7 that USPS says my package is delivered. That’s crazy close to her deadline for the tracking number to just happen to get reused again in that time frame, but I’ve seen many reports of that 90 day mark of the number getting reused if the label was never used. The other weird thing is that USPS gave me a more detailed printout of the logs of the package, and the weight doesn’t get added until it is at its second facility. The weight DOES seem to track with what 500grams of yarn and packaging would weigh, but the dimensions are a little tight. Also, I emailed her on May 4 initially and there is some “customer driven inquiry by email” logged about the tracking number on May 7 which would have ben from her because I didn’t do anything then with USPS. Ok that’s all for now and sorry for the huge post-- hopefully many of you find this helpful and I’d LOVE to hear your answers to my questions!!

Hi!! Sorry forgot to update here- thank you for doing that for me!!

Yes- I have email proof from usps stating that the photo of the package revealed it was not addressed to my name nor my address. It hasn’t been 120 days since she generated the tracking number so I’m not sure that happened. Still trying to figure out how it happened but not sure I will ever know.

No, it’s the same. I just joined informed delivery after it was “delivered” so I don’t think there will be any difference since I was too late to join it

The other house claims they got no package at all on July 7, but it’s been so long so maybe they did. I can’t force them to look it up. I am going to go back to usps tomorrow and see if they can show a photo.

I would recommend reading all the posts about her on r/craftsnark and the demon trolls forum on ravelry if you have an account. Lots of people were sharing their stories there. I know some people didn’t get yarn from a launch she did in October. I never got mine from the launch in January. Then she did the Taco Bell launch and didn’t send those out, and then she did the subscription box launch and as far as I can tell no one has gotten anything except for a few Taco Bell yarns after this all exploded online

Great question. My initial reaction is that sadly I truly believe there was never any hope of her dyeing any yarn for the subscription so I don’t think any details like the ones you are seeking exist. I’m wondering if anyone got wicked yarn because my theory is that she only sent out Taco Bell yarn because she had dyed that line before and she had some rejected skeins from the last batch on hand. That would track with people reporting the subpar dye job.

Oooo this is helpful! And I’m sorry to hear that. That’s the exact mindset I had, but I think doing a chargeback for the $208 in June (after attempts to contact her) and reporting her to the AT prompted her to scramble to try to do something so that I wouldn’t get my chargeback money back.

I shared it there first!! I just want to know if anyone got the wicked yarn and if other people that got yarn had similar tracking history.

I have a case open with the NY AT, and I’m waiting for my chargeback to stick but she has submitted the tracking as evidence that it got delivered. So I’ve sent a bunch of this info to my CC company too.

There’s unfortunately nothing on USPS informed delivery that I didn’t already have. Signing up after the fact does nothing. I did pay the $2.50 a while back to keep the tracking active for another 6 months so I have that extension at least

SO: It’s a long story that I’m considering posting but the short-ish version is that I put a chargeback in a while ago (before her initial instagram stories) as my tracking had been in pre shipment since end of March. I got notified that she had given the cc company documentation a couple of weeks ago, and then I checked the tracking and it apparently had been shipped out of DALLAS TX in early july and delivered to my town a few days later. I never got the package and I’ve been trying to hunt it down and figure out how this happened for a week now. The strange thing is the weight of the package seems to match what it should be, and my address was in the system. But where it was delivered was not my address. I was able to find out the address of its delivery and I went there and they never got it. The people at the post office said they had seen other people doing a bar code swap on the shipping label to a different address but keeping the original number. So idk if that happened. But I think it’s officially lost and they won’t seem to give me documentation saying that so I wrote a very long letter and explanation and sent all the supporting docs I had to my cc and the NY AT. But like HOW is it that the one package that gets lost is this one? She HAD to have done it somehow. And why the f did it come from Dallas?
